I didn’t realise that this was actually a foundation until I started to write this but I certainly love it as a setting powder. Here are my thoughts and photos of the Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation. (I suppose the hint was in the name!).

Apparently it has been designed to be used on its own or on top of your regular base to deliver a flawless finish. I love to set my foundation these days mainly to get rid of shine, reduce the appearance of my big ol’ pores and make my makeup last longer. I concentrate the coverage on the t-zone and then use what is left on the brush to lightly dust it all over the face.

I love the Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation for this job as it takes away shine without taking away the glow and it never leaves my skin looking too matte. It’s lovely! Also, it contains anti-oxidant Centella Asiatica and White Tea for an anti-ageing boost.

The different tones in the powder work to offset discolouration – it simultaneously deals with redness and sallow skin for an all round brightening effect. I haven’t used it on its own yet but I think it will be ideal for minimal makeup days on top of moisturiser to even out the complexion and banish shine.

I used shade Fair but it comes in 3 varieties:

  • Porcelain – Very fair skin, burns easily, with pink undertones
  • Fair – Fair skin with neutral undertones
  • Medium – Medium skin with cool undertones

It feels really light on my skin and not at all cakey and I just love the fact that it sets my base without taking away any of the radiance that I have spent ages trying to achieve. Love this stuff! It is my setting powder of choice right now!

Where to buy?

  • I too love it as a setting powder. It is available at Ulta! I so love your blog!

  • I must be one of the few balance n brighten doesn’t work for. It just made my skin look cakey and flat no matter how little or much I used and how much I buffed. I don’t have dry skin at all but that’s how it ended up looking. I bought it from QVC uk so sent it back within the 30 days but even now I see it on others and in demonstrations and think how fab the results seem. Just not for me, looks great on you though! X

    • Shame. I don’t think I’d like it as a foundation – but a tiny touch to set makeup works so well for me xx

  • I bought 3 sets of these in Tan from QVC as it included a make up bag , a brush and a travel size balance n brighten. i think the colurs a little dark on me but great for me when my skin is tanned ( I have a natural tan if you know what I mean , but much darker in summer ) It has a lovely texture and is easy to use . I guess these will last a long long time , great to travel with so I ll be taking it on my hols !

  • What shade did you use??
I think we have the same skin undertone
