I’ll just start by saying, I don’t have blemish-prone skin, so when I first received this La Roche-Posay Effaclar 3-Step Anti-Blemish System, I passed it straight over to my boyfriend who would describe his skin as problem skin. It’s not really bad, but he does get blemishes and clogged pores which bother him. He’s been using the full system for about a month.

Before I gave him this, he had actually started using the Effaclar Duo+ and was seeing really good results. This made him really keen to try the full system which contains the Effaclar Purifying Gel Cleanser, the new Effaclar Clarifying Toner and the Effaclar Duo+.

This uses carefully selected cleansing agents to minimise the risk of irritation whilst reducing spot causing bacteria. It uses Zinc Pidolate to reduce excess sebum production and of course La Roche-Posay’s Thermal Spring Water to cool and calm.

He has used a few different types of cleanser before including gel cleansers and he really like this way this lathers easily. It makes his skin feel really clean, which is super important as he is a plasterer and works in very dusty environments. The key difference with this La-Roche Posay Effaclar Cleanser is that it doesn’t strip his skin and make it feel tight like some do.

The toner uses Salicylic Acid to smooth and gently exfoliate. It also has oil-absorbing ingredients, Silica, Zinc Oxide and Zine Gluconate. It also uses Allantoin, Glycerin and La-Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water to refresh, soothe and hydrate.

This is the first time he has used a toner, which I think is pretty normal for boys! In fact, he’s really not sure what to say about this one! He says it makes his skin feel extra fresh and smooth after he comes out of the shower. Again, it doesn’t make his skin feel dry. He also thinks this step actually makes the Effaclar Duo+ more effective and he can use less.

As I said, he was already using the Effaclar Duo+ but is loving it even more after carrying out the cleanser and toner steps in the system. Get the full info on this HERE.

He loves this, and find that as well as making his skin feel comfortable and hydrated, it also gives it an improved look. It takes away shine and gives a nice healthy look to his complexion.

Can I just say this now? Getting this feedback was pretty painful, as it felt like he was trying to speak a different language, but I think we got there in the end!!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar 3-Step Anti-Blemish System is available at Boots for £32.50. The fella says he’ll definitely be buying the set when he runs out.
