During a glorious bank holiday weekend in the UK, with a good helping of sunshine, I had the opportunity to test out the new La Roche Posay Anthelios Tinted Dry Touch Gel SPF50. It’s a sun protection face product that uses a tint to cover imperfections and also features an anti-shine complex to keep oil in check. Here are the details, along with before and after photos.

The Anthelois range is all about superior levels of UVA and UVB protection. As a result of new research, La Roche Posay have discovered that pollution acts through the same mechanisms as long UVA rays. And when combined, the resulting skin damage is multiplied. In response to this, LRP have introduced new technology and new products to the range.

Many high protection products tend to make your face super shiny, but this goes on nice and matte, and sets pretty quickly. It is quite thick, so take a bit of working in, however, I find if you treat it like a foundation, and use a buffing brush, you can blend it in fairly easily. I think the key is to make sure you use enough to ensure you have adequate protection.

This is a brilliant product for every day and the beach. It’s certainly a keeper for me and works well alone and under foundation if I want to enhance the finish.

The other new product I am really excited about is the La Roche Posay Anthelios Invisible Face Mist SPF50+  which offers high levels of sun protection in an ultra-light, invisible, refreshing mist. It uses innovative water and air fusion technology and is supposed to be so light that you can spray it over makeup. I will feature this properly as soon as I can. It sounds like the dream.

The La Roche Posay Anthelios Tinted Dry Touch Gel SPF50 is £18 and is available to order online HERE.

  1. Hi Ree!

How universal would you say the tint to this is? What shade of foundation were you wearing when you wrote the post a couple of months ago? I’m currently wearing Estee Lauder pebble, and hoping that this will be a good enough shade for me to forgo foundation on the beach…..a full face of E.L. Double Wear doesn’t really have beach vibes, lol! Of course I know the coverage is going to be significantly more sheer, but I can touch up with a little concealer and hopefully still feel comfortable whilst being protected.

Please let me know your thoughts on the shade!

    Have a great weekend. xx
