There are two ways you can use this daily treatment. Either sprinkle it on to a cotton pad and sweep it over the skin, or take some in between your fingers and press it in to the skin. Take care to avoid the eye and lip area.

This can be used twice daily after cleansing.

My Review

I am a big fan of La Mer products so I was really keen to try this. A liquid exfoliator is quite a different launch for the brand, which made me even more interested.

I love an acid toner but my favourite ones are super gentle because I’m very aware of the risks of over-exfoliation and compromising the skin barrier. I am pleased to say that this one is very gentle. It strikes a great balance between refining and clarifying the skin, and also putting back the hydration and nourishment that the skin needs post-exfoliation.

La Mer warn that you might feel slight tingling, but every time I have used it, I felt no tingling at all. It just feels fresh and hydrating on the skin.

I like to use it on a pad and sweep it over my skin after cleansing. It feels super hydrating as the texture has a lovely watery gel consistency that melts into the skin and has gorgeous plumping effect. It gives an instant glow, and I like to leave it to sit on the skin for a few minutes before I apply my next steps of skincare.

It definitely helps to enhance the smoothness of my skin especially in the congested areas on the sides of my chin. It’s quite different to a lot of my acid toners which have more of a thin water consistency. I love that this has a thicker, essence texture for hydration and softening.

Also, the formula contains glycerin which is one of my favourite humectant ingredients.

So far I have been using this for about a week, and plan to continue for the foreseeable. I’ll update this post with any further observations.

  • I wonder how this compares to their Micro Peel? I use that a few times per week, without any irritation to my sensitive skin. Would still like to achieve a smoother texture, but it’s a challenge to also maintain a healthy skin barrier.
