What is the La Mer Holiday 2019 Glow Highlighter?

So! You know I love a highlighter and this one has two different textures in, which is even more exciting! The limited edition packaging is completely gorgeous too.

This super cute duo has been designed to “attract light to all complexions”. It uses two different textures – a powder and a cream – and this makes me so happy because I love to layer a powder over a cream to achieve the ultimate glow.

La Mer have created a combination of rose and light gold shades designed to accentuate natural highlights for a luminous look. It is all about that lit-from-within glow which is basically my dream skin. La Mer know their glow, the whole brand DNA is built on it. Love it.

Just a little warning for you. The Christmas limited edition always sells out, and most retailers have already sold their stock.

La Mer The Glow Highlighter Swatches

The cream product is very balm-like and gives the most natural-looking glow with no shimmer or pigment.  On it’s own, the cream gives a lustre to the skin, very much like the Illuminate side of the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate duo.

The powder formula is much more of a traditional highlighter, but it is super fine and adds the most stunning glow, especially if you layer it on top of the balm texture to really make it pop.

The first photo shows the balm on the left and the powder on the right. The second pic shows the powder layered over the balm.

I love the glow this gives to the skin. I like to use my finger to press the balm into the skin and then a small fluffy brush to layer the powder over it. It makes the most stunning cheek highlight and the duo is also lovely on eyelids if you want something quick, flattering and illuminating. I really do love it.

Also, the finish is very flattering on the skin and doesn’t emphasise pores or texture which is always a massive bonus.

It comes in really beautiful packaging and feels gorgeous and weighty in the hand without being heavy or clunky. I love that there’s a divider inside so that the powder doesn’t get into the cream.
