Wow! Micellar cleansing water has gone really high end with this new and upcoming launch from Creme de La Mer and I have been giving it a whirl. This may be pricey but it’s pretty amazing! Get all the details here on La Mer Cleansing Micellar Water.
What is La Mer Cleansing Micellar Water
So at first look, this really reminds me of the fish tanks you see at the La Mer counters, except without the fish of course! It’s a simple bottle with the classic branding and chunky silver lid. The perfect bathroom accessory. The question is, does it work? The answer is … completely!

Now there are quite a few micellar waters around on the High Street and some are better than others. A lot of them actually contain soap which can strip and dehydrate the skin, and they are all about removal rather than putting anything into the skin. That’s fine, but the key here with La Mer Cleansing Micellar Water is the extra skincare benefits on offer.
La Mer Cleansing Micellar Water Features
- Rinse free and soap free
- Uses La Mer’s Deconstructed Waters
- Detoxifies and deep cleanses
- Lifts and sweeps away dirt, makeup and impurities
- Features Miracle Broth to soothe and hydrate
- Carefully curated infusion of energising actives
I put this to the test last night. I was wearing quite a lot of makeup yesterday, including waterproof liner and mascara, and it literally took everything off. I used two pads to remove the makeup, and then went it with one more just to clean everything up. I thought that I’d still see makeup on the third cotton pad but it came back clean. I use micellar water quite a lot to do my first cleanse and I think I probably use about four pads on average before going in for a full cleanse.

To really test out the hydration and skincare I element, I decided to leave it there. I didn’t double cleanse, and I didn’t moisturise (shock horror!). My skin felt soft and calm, and very hydrated which I think is the most surprising thing about this product. It really does leave skin feeling like it has been looked after, rather than just cleansed. It is lovely. This is most certainly a product I’d travel with because I think it really is an effective cleanse and it’s super soothing too. I think La Mer fans are going to go mad for this and it is 100% the best micellar I have tried.
