Ok I am so excited about this brand new lip product from L’Oreal! So so excited. Mainly because it is so new and different and it isn’t everyday you encounter newness like this! If you’re a matte lip lover, which I 100% am, then you need to prepare yourself for the true innovation that is L’Oreal Infallible Matte Max Lip Pen. Yes!!

So, what we are looking at here is gel-to-powder (yes) lip colour that delivers a soft yet pigmented matte finish via a very unique delivery system.

Basically this is about sculpting the lips. And I had the extreme pleasure of watching Kontour King, Mario Dedivanovic, demonstrate the L’Oreal Infallible Matte Max Lip Pen at the very special L’Oreal Paris Sculpt School.

The product is part of the L’Oreal Paris Sculpt Collection which also includes the L’Oreal Sculpt Base Foundation (a gripping base for your contour), the Infallible Sculpt Palettes, the Infallible Sculpt Blush, False Lash Sculpt mascara, Sculpt Brow Artist and Superliner Black n Sculpt. I shall have updates on all of those for you very soon.

As soon as I saw Mario applying them, I knew I was going to adore them. He says he loves a matte lip but hates the way it dries and tends to break up on the inner part of the lip. That doesn’t happen with this! You apply these with the sponge and the product is in the lid.

I have been under the weather so my lips aren’t in the best condition – but when they are I think these will look even better. They are very comfortable regardless of my dry lips.

It is so wonderful to try something that’s truly new. I think we’ll see a lot of lip powders like these coming out. I know I have seen something possibly similar from Lancome.

What I really like about L’Oreal Infallible Matte Max Lip Pens is that they layer extremely well over lip balm without changing the matte finish, which is a revelation when it comes to a comfortable matte lip! Also, the sponge applicator serves to really work the product into the lips for a long lasting result.

One more thing – it’s a very modern finish. There are no harsh lines, but more of an intense velvety glow of colour…if you know what I mean?
