IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation Swatches
I have three of the shades to show you:
- 20 Light Cool
- 21 Light Warm
- 23 Light Warm
And here are those swatches for you, in the same order:
It is quite a light, liquid texture. It is so much thinner in texture than the brand’s iconic CC Cream.
Before & After Photos
I opted for 21 Light Warm which I think is the best match for my skin tone.
Half & Half
Here it is applied to the left side of the photo:
I decided to a bit of a half and half photo and just to apply it to one side of my face. I used to do this all the time, I’m not really sure why I stopped. Let me know if you think it’s useful?
I think that Light Warm 21 is a good match for my skin. For reference, my favourite shade in the original CC cream* is Fair Light. I used to mix Fair and Light, until they launched a Fair Light shade!
So the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation is a completely different experience to the CC Cream. As you can hopefully see from my After photo, it delivers what I would describe as a natural matte finish, with soft radiance. It isn’t dewy like the CC, so if you ever found that the shine from that product was a bit much for your skin, this will be ideal.
It’s really easy to apply. It spreads effortlessly over the skin with a buffing brush and requires minimal blending.
Although it’s more matte, it still feels really hydrating and skin softening. It dries down really well so that there’s no tackiness to the touch, but doesn’t feel tight or dry. It’s designed to feel like you are not wearing foundation and I think it does this very well.
I find it really skin perfecting, and it’s very effective at minimising the look of pigmentation, redness and pores, which I think is quite obvious in the half and half photo up above.
If you don’t love powder, you could possibly skip it. I did and it stayed in place and wore very well. It does get dewier (which I like) as the day goes on but I didn’t notice any patchiness and it lasted well where my glasses sit. Any fading towards the end of the day was pretty even. I am impressed.
Overall though, I still prefer the CC Cream because I am addicted to dewy!! However this is much lighter in feel, and it’s sheerer coverage lends itself very nicely to a more natural look. It’s a true medium but you can build it up.
