Last week I showed you the gorgeous Illamasqua Once collection for Fall 2014 and I think the bits I was most excited about were the beautiful looking Illamasqua Vintage Metallix Eye Shadows. They offer a long-lasting metallic cream-gel texture with a smudge-resistant finish.

They look incredible don’t they? And they are!! There are 3 shades Courtier, Bibelot and Embellish. The texture is really beautiful – almost moussey, yet super creamy. It glides over the skin beautifully and is really smoothing. Courtier is absolutely beautiful – it gives my lids the most beautiful creamy pale rose golden glow. It is so pretty that it is perfect on its own.

Here are the swatches of all 3 shades.

Embellish is also incredible. It’s a beautiful cocoa shade that works really well in the outer corners over Courtier. It creates a wonderful bronze effect. I haven’t tried Bibelot on my eyes yet but I just adore the gold finish in all three shades and it gives a beautiful gilt autumnal glow – see the image in my Once collection post.

They are really easy to apply. I used my fingertip but you can use a brush if you’re more comfortable with that. There is plenty of play time to get the coverage you want, before it sets into place. The long-wearing formula means it won’t budge. Once you feel your lids after it is set, they feel dry to the touch, so I don’t think there will be any slipping and sliding at all.

Each shade is also really buildable, so  you can have a light wash or a much deeper, more intense finish.

Illamasqua Vintage Metallix Eye Shadow launches alongside the Once collection for Fall 2014 on 29th August 2014. Find it at Selfridges
