Dandruff and flaky scalps are such taboo topics, even when it seems that no subject is off limits. People share, share, then over-share (me included) but still the whole dandruff thing is so under-discussed that if you’re a sufferer, you can often feel like you’re alone.
But…did you know that around 50% of the world’s population suffer with some kind of scalp issue at some point in their lives? Even the super glam ones!! And there’s a new shampoo and conditioner on the Head & Shoulders block that can deal with the problem more effectively and with even better finesse!

Dandruff is not a glam topic but getting caught with flakes is even less glam, which is why I genuinely love a good bit of Head & Shoulders in my life… even more now with the brand new Apple Fresh formula and fragrance. I am also a big fan of the Itchy Scalp variety but Apple beats it because it smells good and my hair looks fresh all day long.

So what’s the deal with the new Head & Shoulders Apple Fresh?

  • The scent has been formulated using fine fragrance techniques and is built to last throughout washing, blow-drying, heat styling and well into the day
  • Pro Clean technology features 3 cleaning actives to remove unwanted oils and build up
  • Improved blend not only fights the fungus that causes dandruff but removes oil and grime more efficiently
  • Contain dirt repellents that make hair smoother and reject dirt and dust, to keep hair looking freshly washed
I genuinely think that may hair feels fresher for longer after using the Head & Shoulders Apple Fresh shampoo and conditioner.
I don’t use Head & Shoulders all the time. I am far too obsessed with trying every beauty brand and product going for that kind of loyalty, but I always have it in my bathroom. After trying out exciting new products (that are amazing for a variety of reasons) my poor scalp starts suffering and I go back to Head & Shoulders. After a couple of washes, my scalp is completely under control again.
Obviously is would be better if I used Head & Shoulders constantly, especially because it makes my hair silky soft, but my life just isn’t like that. I think I have found a good balance between managing my addiction to new products and managing my flaky scalp!
I used to hide my Head & Shoulders in a cupboard but I am so over that now. I have shared so much on this blog that suddenly a flake here and there really isn’t the mortifyingly embarrassing occurrence it once was!
Plus I know I’m not alone because Head & Shoulders is actually the number one selling hair care brand in the world! Who knew?!
I think the best thing about Head & Shoulders is that considering all the amazing and effective technology behind the brand, it is incredibly cheap – £2.79 for 250ml. You can’t say fairer than that.

Ok that’s it for flaky scalps. I’ll promise to be back with an ultra glam lip gloss or something next!!

  1. This is so true! As its not spoken about, people who suffer feel alienated! I have the head and shoulders anti dandruff shampoo and I really love it. But I’m also too obsessed with Aussie to use it all the time 😛 Great post Xx
