I am absolutely loving the brand new Goutal Etoile d’Une Nuit which is the third fragrance in the Oiseaux de Nuit collection. It’s a gorgeous scent in a beautiful bottle – here’s everything you need to know.
What does Goutal Etoile d’Une Nuit Smell Like?
First of all, the bottle! I love this style that characterises the Oiseaux de Nuit collection. It’s a simple bottle with a charm and this one has a stunning silk handkerchief. Love it!
This is such a pretty scent. It is inspired by a young Parisian woman getting ready for a night out and centred around the anticipation surrounding an amazing evening out in Paris. I completely adore the ritual of getting ready, so the vibe really does resonate with me. The signature note of this fragrance is lipstick. I love nothing more than the smell of a brand new lipstick and Goutal Etoile d’Une Nuit captures this perfectly.
“Camille Goutal draws on memories of the reassuring and sensual scent of her mother, Annick Goutal’s, luxurious leather make up bag. The fragrance encapsulates this memory with an elegant mix of soft powdery notes, a hint of sensual lipstick and a gentle undertone of soft leather”.
I love the contrast of the heady lipstick note with the soft leather. It gives it a modern edge and makes it feel modern and relevant.
The Notes
- Top notes: Iris
- Middle notes: Rose
- Base notes: Raspberry and leather
The blend conjures up a light and airy powdery scent designed to “immediately transport the wearer to the sweet and sensitive act of applying her favourite face powder. Inspired by the soft and light strokes of a makeup brush, the graceful mingling of rose and iris creates a sensitive veil.”
It’s girly without being sickly and wears softly and smoothly on the skin. The dry down is very skin-like and warm and feels and smells fresh. It’s a grown up, chic fragrance, nothing sugar sweet, but softly clean.
