My Review

I have been testing this foundation for about two months and I have to say, it’s a beautiful foundation. If you are a glow lover, please do not be put off by the ‘matte’ element of this formula, because it is still extremely generous in terms of luminosity and glow.
Apart from the soft, flattering radiance it delivers, some of my favourite things about this formula is its ability to diffuse the look of pores, instantly cover redness, and also unify the complexion by evening out pigmentation.
The result is a very bright, smooth and harmonious look that’s polished without being over-done. It’s fabulous.
What skin type is it good for?
I have slightly oily and dehydrated combination skin and find this formula really good on my skin type. I have been testing it for a while and find that I can always get away without powdering which is brilliant news.
Do you need to powder it?
I have combination skin (see above) and I have been skipping powder with the formula because it sets itself very well.
If you are very oily, you will probably want to set your oilier areas with a light dusting of powder, which I think would be the case for pretty much every foundation.
Is it easy to apply?
I have been using a buffing brush to apply Givenchy Prisme Libre Skin-Caring Matte Foundation and I find that it melts into my skin and blends out really easily.
What is the coverage like?
This foundation has absolutely excellent coverage. It immediately neutralises redness and pigmentation but stays looking fresh and natural, and is never like a mask.
You don’t need very much product, so start with a little and then add in as you need more. It is a very buildable medium to full coverage formulation, yet skin remains looking like natural skin.
It keeps your skin looking just like skin, yet it is amazing for covering redness and blurring out pores, fine lines and imperfections.
What is the finish like?
The finish is natural and diffused-looking with loads of radiance. It is super luminous with a very soft velvet quality that looks like super soft and perfected skin.
As I have said, it is very good pores, and instantly blurs them out. I hesitate to use the word ‘blur’ because this can sometimes denote a silicone-y feel, but Givenchy Prisme Libre Skin-Caring Matte Foundation is light and comfortable on the skin with no feeling of heaviness.
It doesn’t settle into pores or lines, but rather smooths over them.
Is it long lasting?
Even without powder, I have been very impressed with the staying power that Givenchy Prisme Libre Skin-Caring Matte Foundation.
There has been minimal transfer even with the masks, and it seems to stay put no matter how hot and bothered I get. This is a great choice for a night out because it’s so natural yet polished and luminous, and really lasts well on the skin.
Before & After Photos
Having had a play with a few shades, I decided that shade 2-N160 was my most flattering match.
