Foundation is pretty much my favourite thing in the beauty world so I am always excited to try a new one. The brand new Givenchy Matissime Velvet Foundation is particularly appealing because as someone with combination skin, the idea of a matte yet radiant finish sounds like the dream. Here is everything you need to know about Givenchy’s latest complexion launch and also the new makeup blender.
In terms of the concept of this new foundation, Givenchy’s global makeup artist, Nicolas Degennes, says “I love radiance; I’m seeking a radiant matte.” Oh goody!!
Givenchy Matissime Velvet Foundation Features
As you may gather from the name of this new product, it was inspired by velvet which happens to be a fabric that’s capable of absorbing and reflecting light at the same time.

- Promises a matte finish that softens the features
- Blurs lines and ‘bulges’
- Pigment evens out skin tone
- Conceals imperfections under a sheer veil
- Black cuminseed oil purifies the skin
- Extracts of ginger, burnet and cinnamon boost the mattifying effect and tighten pores
- Silica microbeads absorb excess sebum and give a blurring effect
- Pigments are coated with amino acid for lasting even skin tone
- Available in eight shades
I have to be honest, I am not at all sure what they mean by bulges! Will this work on my stomach?!
Givenchy Matissime Velvet Foundation Before & After

Swatch of shade 4:

After (shade 4):

I used the new Givenchy Makeup Blender to apply it and I really love that. The pointy bit fits perfectly under the eyes and around the nose for seamless blending. I used it damp and the Givenchy Matissime Velvet Foundation just melted into the skin.

It creates a really light and comfortable texture, and you can build up the coverage without it getting cakey. I love the matte, skin perfecting finish that delivers a lit from within glow. Givenchy are good at that lit from within thing – I also love their Teint Couture Long Wear Fluid and the Teint Couture Cushion. It’s all natural looking glow and perfected skin without the oil slick.
The Givenchy Matissime Velvet Foundation is £35 and launches in May 2017.

O my God is it new version of my favorite foundation Eclate Matissime from Givenchy?Same active ingredients, same name.I thought it was discontinued, I still use it from last year and for last 5 years. When it was launched? I already was searching for new.Thank you for your post,I can relax now
Oh yes sorry you wrote it will be launched in May 2017.My old Eclate Matissime will finish in November or October.Hope it will be available in Lebanon before that.
Finish of this foundation looks absolutely lovely. Would that be the shade that you would buy, as it seems dark on your hand but looks great on your skin. Can not wait till may
