It has been very exciting news that Rihanna is adding a hydrating foundation to her beauty line up. As someone that prefers dewy to matte, it was music to my ears! Here’s the lowdown on the brand new Fenty Hydrating Foundation.

The full name of this product is the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation and it joins the collection in 50 shades, just like its matte counterpart.
What is the Fenty Hydrating Foundation Like?

I have been testing this newbie and I have decided that I am a fan! This is definitely my kind of foundation. When fans of the brand requested a foundation better suited to drier skin types, Fenty listened and here it is. Rihanna said, “I wanted to take Pro Filt’r beyond skin tone to serve all skin types. Nothing is more important to me than making sure that everyone feels included.”

- Medium to full coverage
- Natural finish with a light texture
- Longwear formula
- Enriched with Grape Seed Oil & Sodium Hyaluronate to nourish and hydrate
- Blends and builds easily
- Sweat and humidity resistant
- Doesn’t settle into pores or lines
- Available in 50 shades
Fenty Hydrating Foundation Swatches
I have three of the lighter shades to show you, 130, 150 and 180:

Just like the original matte Fenty Foundation, my closest match is shade 150, and I really love how this one looks on my skin.

My Review
As I said earlier, this is my kind of foundation. I am all about hydration and this one certainly delivers that without looking greasy or shiny. It feels super light and comfortable on the skin, and blends in so easily. It’s nice and buidable, so you can layer up where you need more coverage, but it doesn’t look at all cakey or like you are wearing loads of foundation.

I used the Fenty’s beauty blender to apply this, which apparently gives a sheerer coverage. They recommend using a foundation buffing brush for a fuller coverage finish, and I am looking forward to trying the Fenty Hydrating Foundation that way.
Incidentally, there is a new Kabuki-Buff Foundation Brush on the way, which looks really good. I haven’t had the chance to try that yet.
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Primer
Also new to the line up is the Hydrating Primer in Soft Silk, which I have been playing with. It has a lovely luxurious serum texture that hydrates and moisturises the skin using Grape Seed Oil and Sodium Hyaluronate that is also in the foundation.

It sinks in really nicely and you can use this if you want an extra moisture boost. I used this before applying the new foundation, and I found the combination very longwearing. Actually, I got caught in a very heavy downpour with no umbrella and it stayed looking really good.

I also think this primer will be great under your Fenty, or any matte, foundation if you prefer a more velvety finish but your skin needs more of a moisture boost. It creates a lovely base for foundation to be applied on.

This foundation looks better than I thought it would! I prefer matte foundations on the whole as I have oily skin, but this one looks very natural and doesn’t look too shiny. It looks lovely on your skin too x
it is one of my faves of all the new ones xx
