Don’t be scared! That colour guide is extremely helpful for making sure you have applied The Face evenly and with a little blending it disappears into the skin leaving a warm glow. In the morning I popped it on to my face, neck and decolletage with the glove provided, let it sink in for a few minutes, then applied light makeup. It looked really good.

I left it on all day then rinsed it off when I removed my makeup as part of my bedtime routine. So here are the no makep before and after pics. This is the lightest application but tan fans can increase the intensity as required.

Fake Bake The Face Anti-Ageing Self Tanning Lotion with Matrixyl-3000 Review |
It leaves a really lovely natural looking glow and isn’t drying at all. So here’s a bit of explanation about the product’s full name, Fake Bake The Face Anti-Ageing Self Tanning Lotion with Matrixyl-3000. We are talking “high end skincare meets luxury tanning”. Sounds good doesn’t it?
Fake Bake The Face uses the highest quality self-tan ingredients with clinical levels of Matrixyl-3000 which is an anti-ageing pentapeptide with the power to boost collagen and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles and define contours over time.
I haven’t been able to test out its skincare efficacy but I love that Fake Bake are combining serious anti-ageing skincare ingredients with the self-tanning concept. I wouldn’t like a life without fake tan and it’s great that it can actually be a positive part of my skin care regime. Plus it really makes sense – fake tan allows you to avoid the harmful and ageing effects of natural tanning and means The Face is a double attack against lines and wrinkles. Yay!
The formula is also really hydrating, so no tight feeling often associated with self tan, just lovely smooth skin.
It is also paraben-free and won’t show in pores. The instructions say you can use it daily but I think 3 times a week will be enough for me. You only use a small amount so one 60ml tube will last a good while.
Fake Bake The Face Anti-Ageing Self Tanning Lotion with Matrixyl-3000 launches into Marks and Spencers Beauty on 31st March 2014 for £22. If you like natural looking, glowy skin you’ll love it.
