EMFACE Review 2024 - 20 Minute Needle-Free Lift

Last year I tried a course of EMFACE treatments with the absolutely brilliant Teresa Tarmey at her amazing clinic and I have finally gotten around to writing about it! If you have been wondering what EMFACE is and how it works, I have all the info here.

What is EMFACE and what are the benefits?

EMFACE is an aesthetic treatment device created by the BTL Aesthetics group who have become known as the market leader in non-invasive body shaping treatments.

In 2023 they entered the world of facial devices with the new EMFACE system. I had my treatments at Teresa Tarmey which is the most beautiful clinic I have ever been to.

About EMFACE

This is the first professional treatment that is able to treat muscle and skin simultaneously. It does this by using the HIFES (high-intensity focused electro-magnetic) energy with radiofrequency.

  • Full face treatment in 20-minute sessions
  • Uses 2 therapies in one procedure
  • Treats both facial skin and muscles simultaneously
  • Backed by nine clinical studies
  • On average EMFACE delivers a 30% increase in muscle
  • 37% reduction in wrinkles
  • 23% more lift
  • Needle-free
  • No downtime
  • For best results 4 x 20-minute sessions are recommended, 5-10 days apart

How Much Does EMFACE Cost?

Prices start from £600 per session or £2,400 for a course of four (this can vary according to location). Teresa Tarmey clinic offers single sessions at £650 and a course of 4 is £3,000.

EMFACE FAQ

Who is most suitable for this treatment?

This treatment is suited to preventative, corrective, and/or restorative treatment and can be beneficial to a wide range of age groups.

How many EMFACE treatments do you need?

The recommended treatment course is four 20-minute sessions with each treatment 5-10 days apart.

Are there any risks with EMFACE treatments?

The treatment has minimal risks and it is a very safe, noninvasive technology.

What happens during an EMFACE treatment?

Unlike manual sculpting methods and topical firming products, EMFACE is able to make long-term structural improvements to the face and quality of the skin. Pads are applied to the face for the device to target specific muscle groups including the frontalis to elevate the eyebrows as well as the zygomaticus to raise the corners of the mouth.

Does EMFACE hurt?

I found EMFACE completely pain-free. There is gentle warmth from the radio frequency and involuntary muscle movement that takes a few seconds to get used to as you move up through the intensity levels.

Is EMFACE an alternative to botox and filler?

The innovation is tapping into a market which is looking for a natural lift, without needles or injectables and requires no pre or post down-time.

How long does EMFACE last?

The results from a course of four treatments is expected to last for around 12 months.

Where can you get EMFACE treatments?

I had my treatments with Teresa Tarmey in her amazing Notting Hill clinic, however, the treatment is available at a range of different locations.

My Experience with EMFACE

EMFACE treatment muscle movement

I am pretty bad at sticking to regular clinic or salon treatments because I am a DIY-er to the core and always prefer the flexibility of using at home devices and being able to do everything from home. You can read about all the at-home devices I love in this beauty tech round up.

Having said that, the EMFACE course of treatments is very very easy to stick to because each session is only 20 minutes long and there is absolutely no downtime.

It is a really quick and easy treatment, and there’s no pain at all, although there is an element of getting used to it because it’s quite an unusual sensation.

You simply have the EMFACE pads applied to the face and and then connected up via pads on your back to get the electrical connection, and then you can lay back and relax.

Teresa Tarmey started my treatment on a low setting and then turned it up as soon as I got used to each stage. I like to do pretty much everything on the top setting, and chatted to Teresa about that, so we got up to the highest intensity as soon as possible.

You feel the warmth of the radio frequency, and also the quite intense muscle stimulation, which moves your face quite dramatically. It’s very entertaining! I love to chat, but you can only talk in between the waves of muscle stimulation.

The treatment passes by very quickly and you are up and out before you know it! Immediately after, the skin looks more toned and lifted, and this effect increases after each session, and then continues to show after the course has been finished. Optimum results are visible 90-days post your last treatment.

I was really pleased with the results and how convenient and comfortable the treatment was as a whole. I definitely think it works to deliver a natural lift and refreshed look.

It is hard for me to tell how long lasting the results are because I am constantly using products at home like my ZIIP Halo and my RF Device which also work to lift, tone and improve the quality of my skin. I also regularly use my Dermflux Flex and LED Face Mask to keep my skin looking and feeling its best.

However, if you are interested in a clinic treatment with no downtime or pain that delivers a natural lift without any needles, I can’t recommend EMFACE enough. Additionally, Teresa Tarmey herself is honestly fantastic. She is so warm and friendly with the most relatable yet still professional bedside manner. I absolutely love her and highly recommend checking her out if you are considering any treatments.
