Well it’s a busy old time of year in the run up to the festive seasons and the problem is, there seems to be so much to do, but so little time to do it in!! I am feeling it already! In winter, I tend to wrap myself up and then forget that I am going to have to get my pasty, dry pins out again as soon as the parties come around.

I’m not getting caught this year and have swapped my lotions for more nourishing oils. I have featured quite a few recently but they have all been pretty pricey, apart from these. The Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Body Oils. They are just lovely and also super affordable!

There are 2 new super light yet super hydrating body oils that have recently joined the Dove portfolio and I have to say they are really giving the more expensive products a run for their money when it comes to treating dry winter skin. There’s Pistachio and Magnolia and Shea Butter and Warm Vanilla. They sound gorgeous don’t they? And they smell even better. They are just £8.99 which is pretty incredible for such a luxurious product.

I know we are always going on about the evil combination of cold weather and central heating taking its toll on the skin, but I have to say it seriously does have an impact on my skin. If I don’t pay attention to it at this time of year, the chance of a snow flurry when I pull of my skinnies is basically 100%. It just isn’t pretty (sorry if that’s a tad too much information!!).

I actually first used the Pistachio and Magnolia oil over the summer on my holiday to rehydrate my skin after a day of swimming, but have pulled it out again now for some winter skin rescue. No last minute party legs panic for me this year!! It’s beautiful to use just after a warm shower or bath, and the oil is nourishing yet so light that it sinks in instantly, leaving nothing but hydrated skin and a soft sheen. It also smells amazing!!

I have also just discovered the Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Body Oil in Shea Butter and Warm Vanilla which actually has a super soft shimmer to it. That has gotten me really excited! Again, it smells amazing and I have used a little, but I am saving that one for when I have more of my skin on show when the festivities really kick in. And don’t worry, there’s no glitter here, just a soft glow to the skin.

For now, I am trying to get some relaxation time in before it all starts. Christmas is fun but usually totally exhausting, especially when work demands remain the same but you just have less time to do it! I am rubbish at ‘me’ time, and pretty much useless at taking baths because the second I get in I start wondering whether it’s time to get out already?! I’m just not one of those people that can stay still for long.

The Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Body Oil is a wonderful luxurious interlude and I take the time to massage it into my damp skin straight after the shower and I find the aroma really relaxing and calming. Because it’s so light you can get dressed straight away, or get into your PJs ready for bed and perfectly fragrant.  Both oils smell divine and contain nourishing ingredients rich in essential fatty acids to soothe, nourish and repair the skin. I think the £8.99 price tag is brilliant and perfect for affordable but impressive stocking fillers.

You can find them at Boots, Superdrug and Tesco.
