There’s a brand new foundation available from Clinique and I have been giving it a whirl. I have photos, swatches and before and after pictures for you here, and I’ll just put the good news up front here – I really like it!! Here’s the lowdown on Clinique Superbalanced Silk Foundation.

So the key thing about this newbie is that it has been formulated to suit all skin types, so everyone will find this post useful. It promises to control oil whilst hydrating the skin and providing perfect, weightless coverage. Sounds great doesn’t it?

• Laminaria Saccharina Extract works on areas with excess oils

I was sent the shade 08 Silk Canvas which I 100% thought was going to be too dark for my skin, but miraculously the foundation melted in to create a fairly good match. It is maybe a tiny bit dark, but I usually go in with a tonne of bronzer after I have applied a lighter shade of foundation, so I just didn’t need so much of that.

I love the way this looks on my skin. The following photo is with no other makeup (not even concealer or powder) apart from the new NYX Cosmic Metals lip cream on my lips, cheeks and lids and some of the Clinique Lash Power Full to Flutter mascara.

I applied it with the Clinique Buff Brush which I absolutely love. I have two now!

It has instant skin perfecting medium coverage and is very buildable so you could layer it up if there was something a bit more challenging you needed to cover. It is lovely. I wasn’t expecting to like it this much! One thing though – I wish it came with a pump or in a squeezy tube because bottles like this are notoriously messy!
