Clinique Even Better Eye Dark Circle Corrector Review
I am a tad obsessed with eyecreams and always carry one in my handbag for touch ups during the day to boost hydration and soften lines. I think this new product for Clinique is going to be perfect for that.
Keep reading to see the Clinique Even Better Eye Dark Circle Corrector in action – before and after pics! Lovely!!
It’s a lightweight, oil-free formula created to prime the skin before makeup. As you can see, the colour resembles a concealer.

You use the applicator (which is designed to improve micro-circulation and revive tired eyes) to apply the product across the under-eye area and then pat it into the skin with your  finger tips.
It claims to have both instant and long term effects, so as I only got it a couple of days ago, I am testing out it’s instant results.
Here is a before pic of my eyes with absolutely no makeup on:

I don’t suffer with dark circles as such, more like purple ones. The skin under my eyes is very fine and quite translucent so you can see the veins quite easily.
Here is a shot showing one eye with the Clinique Even Better Eye Dark Circle Corrector applied to the eye you see on the right of the picture.

These shots were taken very soon after application so you can see that the product looks quite moist on the skin. A few minutes later the product had absorbed properly into the skin and looked like this:

I think it’s a brilliant result considering I have no makeup on. This would be fab on days when I want the minimal makeup look.
And here it is with the rest of my makeup, but NO CONCEALER.
Clinique New Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecting Makeup
Clinique Even Better Eye Dark Circle Corrector with  the New Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecting Makeup
The foundation shown here is actually another new launch from Clinique – the New Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecting Makeup that is out in October. I think I might be in love with it! It leaves a flawless finish and literally vanishes my large pores that I absolutely hate!!
I shall be doing a Face of the Day on this makeup and a separate post on the New Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecting Makeup very soon so stay tuned!
But back to the Clinique Even Better Eye Dark Circle Corrector – this is the lowdown on the science.
Long-term benefits:
  • Visibly lightens the eye area over time
  • Key ingredients, Vitamin C and Mulberry Root to help minimise the appearance of darkness
  • Protection against irritation and environmental assaults
  • Anti-irritant ingredients, including Caffeine and Green Tea Extract
  • Phytosphingosine helps minimise inflammation underneath the thin skin under the eye
  • Improves structural support and barrier strength
  • Siegesbeckia Orientalis Extract helps prevent the breakdown of natural collagen so that skin’s structural integrity is maintained
  • Linoleic Acid and Cholesterol for optimum balance of moisturisation for smoother, softer skin
  • Whey Protein promotes skin’s natural collagen production

Instant gratification:

  • Translucent Optics Technology to immediately perfect and enhance skin’s natural tone and brighten the eye area.
  • Instantly lessens the appearance of dark circles on all skin tones, from fair to deep. A technology so unique, it’s patent-pending.
By the sounds of this, and with it’s instant performance, this eye product can do pretty much everything I am looking for in an eye cream, so it is definitely going on before makeup and will be in my handbag with me for those all important touch ups.
It feels super hydrating on the skin which I love. With hydrated skin, you are less likely to form wrinkles, regardless of any other anti-ageing technology. FACT! I think it really illuminates the eye area and looks so fresh.
The Clinique Even Better Eye Dark Circle Corrector is £28.00 / €38.00 and is available exclusively at Selfridges and Brown Thomas now. It will hit Clinique counters nationwide from 1st September 2012 and Clinique.co.uk

  • This stuff looks genuinely really good, which is great news for me as I have recently started suffering from terrible dark circles, and haven’t been able to find anything that can help. Thank you for posting the before and after pictures – I think it makes a huge difference to a review, as it really helps me to decide on something when I can see how it actually works!
A really great review, this is definitely a must-have for me!

  • I tried this for a reader panel. I have to say I was very impressed, too many hours sat in front of a computer screen everyday means darks circles galore! This really helped I’ll be treating myself to a full size version when it hits the shops.

  • This looks promising. My dark circles are better than they used to be – they seem to be improving as I get older – although I suspect this is down to fewer late nights and hangovers! I can’t bear using anything heavier than Touche Eclat under my eyes, even when I need something more heavy-duty, so this could be the answer.

  • I was looking for dark circles in your before picture! Where are they? I would love to see results on someone with circles like mine.

    • Hi anon

I explained in my post – “I don’t suffer with dark circles as such, more like purple ones. The skin under my eyes is very fine and quite translucent so you can see the veins quite easily.”

Sorry this wasn’t helpful for you

  • I purchased this product yesterday, after suffering with dark areas under my eyes since being a teenager (29 now). Not particularly due to late nights etc… I’m very pale skinned and have always just ‘assumed’ it to be my natural look! But, frankly, I’m tired of being asked if im ok, or if ive had a late night.

As a male that has never worn any kind of make up before (for no reason other than not feeling the need to do so), I was a little sceptical about giving this a try. However, after reading this and a number of similar reviews, I thought it was worth the ‘punt’.

24 hours in (3 applications later), I can see a slight difference in the immediate few hours but seems to become less effective after four or so hours. That said, I’m not using anything else in terms of make-up to mask the issue. I do also think that the product leaves the skin feeling unusual – like I guess make-up feels? I guess I will quickly get used to that. Hopefully, after a couple of weeks I will see a real difference. Fingers crossed!

  • i’ve had trouble with dark circles for a long time and i’ve use other Clinique products in the past. I used this product for 2 days, twice a day as recommended by Clinique. I ended up in the emergency room with a severe allergic reaction. I would post the pictures but i don’t know how to do that on this website. all i can say is DON’T DO IT!!!!!!!

  • Used the product for 1 week and was asked by two male collegues if I was ok since I looked like I was punched in the eye, especially left side. Product made my dark circles worse!

  • ive always sufferd from dark circles and it really depresses me everyday!i got this cream and was told by the lady its brill, ive used it twice a day everyday for a week now and i havent noticed any diffrence wot so ever..i also think it feels very oily on my skin and almost immediately after me putting this on, my eyes feel very itchy!i think if anything my dark circles look worse…..which isnt what i want to say i payed not far of 30 pound for a tiny tube………

  • The skin around your eyes looks so smooth and bright, I’m jealous!! Which eye cream do you use at night?!

    • Thanks so much. I use lots of different eye products as I am always testing them. I think I was using Caudalie at the time.

  • Which mascara are you using on these pictures? It looks very nice and natural. Please, tell me!

  • Ohhh you don’t have any dark circles!! You don’t need 🙂
I have terrible dark circles and have somuch trouble to find something to cover them ♥ thanks for the review

  • Wow Ree! your eyes and the skin around them are already to be coveted. Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it, you look great without makeup!

  • I have used Clinique all about eyes as well as Made from Earth’s Chamomile Eye Cream. There’s no comparison IMO. Made from Earth Chamomile hands down. I did like applying the all about eyes cold out of refrigerator. It’s perfect consistency for that. Saw a major difference in 1 week, and Im still using it and seeing results. Clinique products are just not worth the price anymore.

  • Hi. Are you still using this cream? Only discovered it today and wondering if you still feel it is worth it. Thanks
