If you are serious about eyeshadow then it is always a good idea to use an eye primer to ensure you have a super smooth base, you correct an discolouration before you start and that the shadow stays put without creasing, fading or moving. It basically allows your eye makeup to be the best it can be.

It looks like a foundation but it has a thicker texture. It is really smooth and creamy and feels super soft on delicate eyelids. It smoothes the skin, evens out the tone and also brightens the eye area. Just what I need for my lids!

This really is the perfect place to start with eyeshadow. The Clarins Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base contains oat sugar extracts which work to smooth the eyelids out and create an excellent base on which to apply colour. There are also mattifying powders included which mean that the natural oils in your skin can’t interfere with the wear of your eyeshadow. Oily lids really makes my eye colour crease and this is the perfect answer.

The primer also contains Instant Light’s 3D pigments which boost the radiance of the skin and help to illuminate the eye area for a fresh, youthful look. I tried it yesterday under the new Clarins Autumn 2014 Eye Quartet Palette and loved it. There’s a peek at the full collection HERE.

The colour went on really smoothly and didn’t budge until I took it off. It performed brilliantly! I also think it will be great even if I just want to wear mascara, just to keep the lids looking even.

Clarins Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base is  £22. BUY IT HERE.

  • I must get this tomorrow! I’m a massive fan of NARS and nothing ever lives up to it, but I bought the clarins concealer and that blew me away so i’m up for this! Can you tell me what base you’re using in this picture, it’s fresh as a daisy!
