Here’s another new product from Clarins – Hydra Quench Tinted Moisturiser SPF15. I have been playing with it this morning so here’s the low down.

I love the Clarins HydraQuench range, it’s great for dehydrated skin and this is a new tinted moisturiser with SPF15 as previously it was an SPF6. I have never actually tried that product but I think that the enhanced sun protection in this product makes it much more appealing.

Here’s a closer look at it:

Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturiser SPF15 is a lovely lightweight yet intensly hydrating formula that uses hyaluronic acid and katafray bark extract. It contains ‘beauty enhancing mineral colour pigments’ to even out skin tone and has mineral sun protection to defend the skin from UVA and UVB rays, plus anti-oxidant protection from damaging free radicals.

I love the finish on my skin. It leaves is plump, hydrated and radiant yet almost with a demi-matte finish that makes my skin look rather perfected. In fact I think that Clarins has it spot on with it description of a satin finish.  Here it is:

So you can compare, here’s a before picture, which is already quite glowy because I used the Clarins Radiance-plus Golden Glow Booster Made to Measure Self Tan last night with my night cream.

I love the finish of this. Lots of tinted moisturisers look overly wet and oily on my skin and lack the the kind of makeup (but no makeup) finish that I want. This settles into the skin really beautifully in a velvety way yet still allows the skin to glow. I’d happily skip powder. Sand 01 adds a night hint of skin-evening warmth.

I don’t know exactly how many shades there are, but there seemed to be quite a few back at Clarins HQ. I’ll check and update you.

Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturiser SPF15 launches in June 2014.

  • Hate this new spf 15 in the clarins tinted moisturizer! i have an allergy to the increased spf! So annoyed as i have been using this fantastic product for over 20 years. Initially no spf was in product and then clarins added spf 6 which gave protection which was a good move but this overly increased new spf15 is a real problem as it remains on surface of the skin and does not absorb which causes eye makeup to blot and smudge around eye area. Eyes feel sticky and sore! Its a very uncomfortable feeling to have on your face all day!!! Couldn’t understand why it was so different than the previous one i had been using and then i thoroughly read the tube and noticed the spf15 increased content…..!!!!! Be careful those of you are prone to sensitive skin and and ask for a sample before you buy it as at £30 its not exactly cheap! Hate the thought of having to source a new product so clarins PLEASE BRING BACK THE SPF6!!!!
