Iconic fashion photographer Norman Parkinson’s life work was to enhance and capture on camera the beauty of a select few women and his work covered many a glossy a magazine throughout his career. Charlotte has always been fascinated and inspired by his images and often featured his shots on her visual mood boards.
In homage of Parkinson’s work and with the help of his grandson Jake, Charlotte set about creating a limited edition collection of vintage-style compacts and makeup bags featuring a range of iconic images. I have to say, they have done an amazing job.
Charlotte Tilbury Norman Parkinson Filmstar Bronze & Glow (£55)
Charlotte’s best-selling sculpting palette has been re-imagined in sumptuous cream textures with shades Sun Tan and Sun Light to ‘capture the youthful, soft-focus len’s of Parkinson’s camera. Charlotte calls the effect holiday skin.
The Sun Tan bronzer gives a natural luminous finish with refined pigments for a soft focus effect. Spherical polymers make it super blendable and easy to apply.
The Sun Light highlighter uses soft focus pigments to minimise skin imperfection and also Apricot oil to moisturise.
The compact features Jerry Hall from British Vogue May 1975. The Charlotte Tilbury Norman Parkinson ‘On Call’ Makeup Bag features the same image.

Dreamy Glow Highlighter (£45)
I absolutely love this! It is the most silky soft texure that deliver swhat Charlotte calls “peaches and cream skin”.
It uses golden, mother of pearl tones and flex technology to capture and radiate light in a softer more ambient way than Filmstar Bronze & Glow. The compact features a shot of Carmen dell’Orefice from Vogue 1959.
Charlotte Tilbury Colour of Youth Lip & Cheek Glow (£40)
This is a beautiful lightweight creamy cheek and lip colour that hydrates the skin whilst microfine pigment ensure high colour performance and long-lasting finish.
The image that adorns this is of Parkinson’s wife, Wenda, taken in 1956. It is the first time it has been reproduced.
