How To Use Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Glow Glide Face Architect Highlighter
Charlotte says that there are lots of different ways to use this highlighter. Highlighter, in general, is a very versatile product and here are the brand’s recommended uses for this one.
- Cheeks – use from the cheekbone to temple area, blending backwards and forwards for an instant lift effect
- Jaw – apply along the jawline (avoiding the chin) to create a more sculpted facial framework
- Eyes – apply to the inner corner, centre of the eyelid and along the lower lashline in the middle with a small smudger brush to avoid sweeping all the Brow – highlight under the arch of the brow for a brow and eye lift effect. Also dot above the centre of your eyebrow for extra glow
- Lips – apply highlighter along the upper lip line, focussing on the cupid’s bow for a fuller look
- Wet and dry – use the powder dry for day time glow, and apply with a wet makeup brush a more intense finish for night

My Review
As expected, this is a lovely, luxurious highlighter with a soft, smooth texture and super flattering finish.
There are a range of different shades, and one of them is Pillow Talk which is supposed to suit absolutely everyone. Also, the product has been designed to be used all over the face which I love.
Of course, I am already a fan of multi-use products, and even if they are not designed as multi-taskers, you can pretty much do what you want with any product you own. I often use my bronzers and highlighters as eyeshadow, and my lipsticks as blush, concealer as foundation and vice versa. There really are no rules.
The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Glow Glide Face Architect Highlighter has a soft, smooth texture that’s almost creamy, much like the limited edition Hollywood Super Star Glow highlighter that launched and sold out at the end of 2020.
Glide Glow melts into the skin effortlessly. I find that it doesn’t exacerbate or settle into my texture, lines or pores too much. The finish is skin flattering and also buildable so you can customise your look. You can go for a light layer and get a really subtle glow, or layer it up/use a wet brush for a more intense effect.
I am a fan of these. The only thing I would say is that the refillable pans move around quite a lot in the compact. This means they rattle a bit.

How does it compare the Rare Beauty highlighter?
I had lots of questions regarding a comparison of the new Hollywood Glow Glide with the Rare Beauty highlighters that launched at the end of 2022.
In terms of shades, the CT Pillow Talk Glow shade, and the Rare Beauty Mesmerise shade are pretty similar, and could be viewed as dupes in terms of colour.
Formula-wise, I find that the Charlotte Tilbury formula is smoother, and more liquid looking that the Rare Beauty. I find the Rare one is slightly more sparkly, albeit super fine sparkle. If you are wondering which one is less glittery, and perhaps more suitable for older skins, then I would say CT.

Which shades are suitable for fair skin?
The best shades for fair skin are Moonlit Glow, Champagne Glow and Pillow Talk Glow.
How do you know which shade to choose?
If you want to use the shades as traditional highlighters, then try to stick to the following:
Fair – Medium skin – Moonlit Glow, Champagne Glow and Pillow Talk Glow
Medium to Deep skin – Pillow Talk Glow, Gilded Glow, Sunset Glow
Deep Skin – Rose Gold Glow, Bronze Glow, Pillow Talk Glow
How does it sit with other makeup?
I find that this formula layers nicely with other base products, and it lasts well thanks to its Flex technology.
Is it glittery?
I would say that it’s a smooth, liquid-like shimmer sheen rather than a glittery finish.
What is the difference between the Glow Glide and the Hollywood Super Star highlighter?
Personally, I’d say that the formula is fairly similar. The Hollywood Super Star Glow highlighter was a limited edition in one shade and is no longer available. See the review here.
Is it suitable for mature skin?
Yes. There a lots of hydrating, emollient and skin-smoothing ingredients which make this good mature and dry skin types.
How does it look on fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes?
The formula of Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Glow Glide Face Architect Highlighter is designed to give skin smoothing effect. I don’t find that is exacerbates my texture or lines.
Is it a bronzer or a highlighter?
This formula is designed as a highlighter, however, it can be used is many different ways so you could use it like a bronzy blush if you wished – just choose a deeper shade than your skin tone if that’s available to you. I would choose Bronze Glow*, which also makes a gorgeous eyeshadow.
Which shade is most like BECCA’s Champagne Pop?
I would say that the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Glow Glide Face Architect Highlighter in Champagne Glow* is the closest match to BECCA’s now sadly discontinued Champagne Pop.
