I have had a play, swatched them up, taken shots of each shade on my lips and eaten a sandwich! I was hungry and it seemed like a good opportunity to challenge the 24 hour hold claim.

The pigment is super intense, they have a light feel and a good bit of play time before they set into place. They don’t feel drying at all and the applicator is perfectly shaped to line and define the lips with good precision. The finish is beautiful – not so matte that the lips look parched, they still have a pretty lustre.
I shot each shade on my lips, and then had to work fairly hard to get them off ready for the next one! If some don’t look completely matte it is because they were freshly applied. I have a photo at the end that shows one of the shades I’d been wearing for a few hours.

I also tested re-application, which is sometimes very tricky when it come to matte liquid lipstick formulas. More good news on this front – it layers up very easily and a second coats gives a finish that is as perfect as the first. Phewph! So no cracky, peeliness at all! There are other shades too 01 No Red, 05 Flamingo Ole, 07 Nude-ist and 08 Grand Cru.
Here is Pink Pong after a few hours, a sandwich and a light second coat applied not from necessity but to test out layering.

Basically Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks are brilliant. This is a serious score for Bourjois and once again they have managed to produce a high-end feel, high performance and high fashion product for the high street.
UPDATE – there are 2 new shades added to the line up. Buy them at Boots for £8.99. See the new shades HERE.

I need to get my hands on these!! They all look amazing!
I’m thinking about buying Pink Pong, but here it looks really pretty 🙂
Although these are gorgeous and last for the whole day, be careful, as they dry and crack the lips. I have been using the lipsticks for over 2 months now and only on weekends but have developed saws all over my lips and they itch all the time. My friends say the same.
I haven’t found that at all. I love them. Perhaps it’s an ingredient in them your lips don’t like. xx
