Now this isn’t a new product but it just happens to be a bit of a first for me because this is the only time I have ever got on well with a self-tan that you spray on. Historically, unless I am stood in a tent wearing paper knickers and a smile, spray tans are a complete disaster for me. I usually end up with patches, brown soles of my feet and a brown bathroom. Hideous! But not with this one. This is the Bioderma Photoderm Autobronzant Moisturising Tanning Spray.

Bioderma Photoderm Autobronzant Moisturising Tanning Spray Review

This tan is good on so many levels! Bioderma Photoderm Autobronzant spray can be used in any direction so literally no spot will go untanned. I easily managed to cover my back without any stretching or straining at all. Even though I have been practising self tanning for more years than I care to remember, the back is always tricky.
It is completely clear so there is absolutely no mess in the bathroom. I do get into the bath to spray, mainly because I know that airborne products settle literally everywhere and I want to avoid any slippery floor accidents.

I generously spray everywhere (I have to be generous because my skin is seriously and truly white) and it dries pretty much straight away so I get dressed without worrying. I even spray it over the tops of my hands which is traditionally a problem area, where I either end up with too much, or not enough, tan. This gives the perfect application and my hands actually match the rest of me!! Yay!
As I have got more confident with it, I have paid less attention to detail and still the result is faultless. It delivers a really lovely, natural looking tan every time. It’s also really moisturising which is pretty incredible for such a light, traceless spray and since I have been using it, the dry patches/bumps on the backs of my upper arms have kind of vanished. I wasn’t expecting that kind of bonus!
So a bit of product info about Bioderma Photoderm Autobronzant – it’s an alcohol-free aqueous formula that contains Bioderma’s exclusive Cellular BIOprotection technology that activates the skin’s natural defences, protects the cells’ DNA and actively prevents photo-ageing.
I absolutely love this product! It is perfect for everyday if you’re pale like me, or a less regular top up if you’re blessed with a darker skin tone. The only down side for me is that, because I have been using it it rather a lot, and quite generously, I have used it up quite fast. I have applied it about 5 or 6 times and I think there’s probably only a couple of applications left. It would last a lot longer if you weren’t a complete milk bottle.
Bioderma Photoderm Autobronzant Moisturising Tanning Spray costs £15 for 150ml and is available at Escentual. If you’re a learner tanner or just want something quite light, gradual and super convenient that doesn’t dry out the skin, I couldn’t recommend it more.
