Batiste Shield My Locks Heat & Shine Spray Review

Batiste’s Heat & Shine Spray has been out since 2015 but I’ve only recently had a chance to try it out and it’s definitely different to other heat protection sprays. When I think of Batiste I generally think of dry shampoo, so it’s great to discover that they have a whole range of other hair care products too.

The packaging stands out but keeps to the brand’s usual format – high shine outer can, unique patterned design and a bright and cheerful colour scheme that’s eye catching and fun.

– It has Keratin & Inca Inchi Oil infused

A good test for this product was my dark hair which has been bleached many times and has dry ends; it definitely made it frizz free, softer and more manageable. A few sprays is all you need to cover all of your hair – however to ensure you get complete coverage sectioning is the best way, mainly concentrating on the ends where damage from heat is concentrated.

The downside of this spray is that it can only be used on dry hair – so don’t use it straight after washing your hair as it will end up being greasy. The product is oil infused and in an aerosol form – not the best combination for wet hair!

What sets this heat protection apart from its competitors is the gold flecks – pretty amazing for a high street brand. I love the fact this is present in the formula, it keeps up with the glow trend and looks lovely on the hair.

A little goes a long way with this and I think it’s a good little buy to try if you’re in need of a new heat spray. Not expensive either at only £4.49 and it works a treat!
