Being a big fan of hybrid skincare and makeup products, I was very keen to try out the brand new bareMinerals Strength & Length Serum-Infused Mascara. It brings lash care and clean makeup together in one product. Here’s what you need to know.
First of all, I have a good track record with mascaras from this brand. I love Lash Domination and also Lashtopia. So I had high hopes for this launch.
What is bareMinerals Strength & Length?
- A nourishing, clean, vegan mascara
- Promises visibly longer, fuller lashes instantly and over time
- Lightweight, ultra-black formula with fortifying plant-based serum
- Lashes are left feeling soft, supple and stronger
- New patent pending paddle brush designed to mimic the classic makeup artist trick of using a spoon to lift lashes to lift and define
- Contains red clover peptide serum to strengthen & reduce lash loss
- Contains essential mineral blend for deep conditioning and nourishing
- Helps visibly smooth the hair cuticle for shiny, supple lashes
So I have been using the bareMinerals Strength & Length consistently for just over four weeks. Not absolutely every day, because I don’t wear makeup every day, but it has been the only mascara I’ve used with the exception of one day when I appeared on a zoom with another brand. I just want to be totally transparent.
So, I’d say I have used it three to four times a week for four weeks. Under other circumstances, in terms of our global situation, I would probably have used it 6 days of every week. However, based on this more restricted use, I have still been impressed with the performance.
Here are my photos from the first time I applied it. This is two light coats on one eye:
It is a lovely mascara to use and I find that the paddle brush (which is patent-pending) is really great for lifting and defining the lashes. You just kind of place the brush with the bristles upwards and under the lashes, and then comb them outwards. It’s really easy to use, and it separates the lashes and doesn’t gather or clump.
The formula is gentle on my eyes and doesn’t irritate. It’s a fairly wet texture, however, having experimented with it over the weeks, I find I get the best, long lasting performance when I just the let the wand air dry for a few seconds before I begin application.
After Four Weeks
I took this photo of two coats on my lashes at the four week point:
I feel that the lashes look longer here and they feel stronger and fuller, even without any mascara applied. I think that the lashes on the outer corner have definitely grown which helps to make my eyes look more awake.
Also, I haven’t noticed any lashes falling out which is a major bonus. the bareMinerals’ clinical trials are actually based on 8 weeks of use, so I am really pleased with how this is looking so far.
