Yes!! I have been SO excited to get my hands on this brand new makeup product from bareMinerals! A soft matte powder for the shine you don’t want, a glowing luminous powder for the shine you do want – this neat little powder duo compact is about glowing in all the right places. That’s what we all want isn’t it?! Here is the upcoming bareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo with everything you need to know about it.
Inside this compact are two different powders that offer two different skin finishes. bareMinerals promise this is everything we need to get an ‘effortlessly fresh—not flat’ look.
bareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo Features
- 2 distinct finishes
- ‘Matte’ absorbs oil & is perfect to set makeup
- Glow is infused with rose gold pearls to highlight and strobe
- Ultra-fine translucent powders
- Developed to instantly vanish on all skin tones
- Unique baked technology creates a creamy, cushioned formula
- Uses advanced blurring powders to diffuse the look of pores & imperfections
- Can be worn alone or over foundation to set and add a soft-focus finish
I think this is genius. In a way, it is so obvious that I am surprised that I don’t already own a Matte & Glow compact already. Shine in makeup is a huge trend at the moment – but it really is all about shining in the right places. Nobody looks good with an oily nose or chin, and if you can find a powder that simply absorbs oil without making everything look flat, then you have seriously cracked it!
bareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo Swatches
The texture of these powders is beautiful. It is soft, smooth and creamy and feels ultra light on the skin.
I applied Matte to my t-zone – forehead, nose and chin – and then Glow to my cheekbones, above my eyebrows, on the bridge of my nose, the cupids bow and lightly under my eyes to set the concealer.
I could do this because the Glow powder has the right balance of luminosity and soft velvety matte to make the skin glow rather than shine. This does also mean that if you are looking for a Champagne Pop style highlight, then this isn’t it. This is more along the lines of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders and it is very beautiful in an understated way. This is definitely highlighter for anyone that’s scared of highlighter for whatever reason – be it that you don’t like anything too obvious or are worried about exacerbating lines or enlarged pores.
This is a soft glow that blurs out imperfections and is incredibly beautifying. I don’t think that Strobe is the right word for this product, but I certainly don’t think that is a bad thing. You can use both these powders to balance and perfect the skin, and add a light glow, and if you really want to shine, you can add an intense highlight on top without the fear of shining a light on imperfections. If you know what I mean?!
Also, Matte is so light and soft that is gently removes shine, but not the dewiness of your skin or foundation (I used Armani Maestro Glow in this case), and so the skin still has dimension and freshness. Lovely! This is classy skin.
