Wow! Bare Minerals BareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation is a bit of a mouthful but to me fair it earns its name and from hereon in let’s call it Bare Minerals BareSkin!
I have been on a roller coaster of emotion with this foundation. It was launched to press and not bloggers ages ago and I have been gagging to try it out for what seems like an age. When my sample was finally posted to me it got stuck at the post office and I just started to get just a little bit over the whole thing. Huge excitement turned to frustration which then faded to complete apathy. As an obsessive, all or nothing type that is so in love with the beauty industry, my beauty blogging sends me through a range of emotions!!
Luckily, my love for a great product always shines through and I have been saved from apathy by the fact that Bare Minerals BareSkin is absolutely beautiful. There is no denying it at all! It is an absolute dream of a foundation especially if what you want is a beautiful glowing skin. And when I say that, I mean you just look like you have amazing skin and not an amazing foundation.
Now this stuff kind of reminds me of the Armani Maestro except in my view is delivers more coverage, more glow and it doesn’t just disappear into the skin. The Maestro liquid feels amazing with its oil but it is just too sheer for me. It’s a foundation for people with perfect skin.
Before I get into swatches and before & after photos, let’s talk formulation.

They recommend 2 drops into the fluid reservoir for sheer coverage, 4 drops for medium and 6 for full coverage. I think used about 6 and that was great for me.
It’s a lovely, lovely brush but I think I’d be equally happy with my beloved Real Techniques buffing brush.
Bare Minerals BareSkin Before & After Photos
I absolutely love the finish of this and apart from the fact that it evens out redness and give the skin real radiance and luminosity, it also really minimises the size of my pores. I hate my enlarged pores but I have found that this makes them so much less visible and this effect is very long lasting too.
The above photo is without concealer or powder. I followed with powder and the rest of my makeup and it literally then lasted all day. And my pores were less visible all day. I definitely think you should pop along to a counter and give it a try. There are 20 shades to choose from. I think I possibly need a darker shade – just a tiny bit.
