Russell & Bromley Lola Tote
I’ll give you a second to fall in love with that bag (the Lola Tote from Russell & Bromley SS14 FYI) but let’s get back to hair. June gave mine a thorough assessment and then selected a range of products to get it looking it’s best. I have been using them and I completely love them!

Aveda Hair Care Products Review
My hair is thick, coarse and on the dry side. My scalp is fairly sensitive and is prone to dryness, particularly in winter. It doesn’t get greasy, in fact quite the opposite! The longer I leave it, the drier it gets. I use absolutely tonnes of different products (blogger issues!) and also tend to pile them on in the hope that ‘more is more’!
I kind of forgot about the old mantra ‘less is more’ but June has reminded me! I have been using the Aveda Brilliant Shampoo and Conditioner and they are amazing.

Aveda Brilliant Shampoo & Conditioner Review
The Brilliant shampoo is absolutely brilliant for deep cleansing the hair and scalp, and removing product build up (I have a lot of that!) without stripping your hair of natural moisture. As I rinse it out, my hair feels super clean but still silky and it is kind to my scalp as it contains calendula, aloe and camellia.
I put the Brilliant conditioner through the lengths and ends, leave it for a minute or 2 and then rinse it completely away. I used to slather it on from root to tip, but I am going with June’s ‘less is more’ idea. It leaves my hair tangle-free, super soft and seriously shiny.

Aveda Damage Remedy Treatment Review
I towel dry my hair then scrunch it into the lengths and ends of my hair, and then gently comb it though with my Tangle Teezer. I start at the bottom combing through, and work higher up the hair. In this way I spread the product without directly applying it to the root area, which would be too much. I leave it in for 5-10 minutes and then thoroughly rinse it out. The longer I leave it on for, the longer I rinse it for.
My hair feels renewed after I use this.

Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid Review
Another new favourite of mine is this Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid. I pop a couple of pumps on to the lengths and ends of damp hair to smooth, moisturise and give it serious shine without weighing it down. Great stuff! It is also great to use on my dry hair to revive it when it gets a bit dehydrated.
Finally, this is a fave that I have been using forever! The Aveda Brilliant Damage Control heat protector.

I liberally spritz this on, concentrating on the lengths and ends, and then get styling. This is the step I never skip. Love it because it never weighs my hair down and I feel confident that it is protecting my hair from all the heat I use.
And that’s it! Absolutely loving my new Aveda regime. Obviously, I will use other stuff and could never stop experimenting with any hair product I lay my hands on, but if someone told me that I had to stick with this set of products forever, I’d be really rather happy!
