If you’re a regular around here, you will know that I am not big on powder. In fact, with a few exceptions, I generally try to avoid it. However, the Armani Luminous Silk Glow Fusion Powder is different! Here’s what you need to know!

I know that there are few people who thought that this was a bronzer launch, however, I can confirm that this is, in fact, an all over powder and you simply need to choose the same shade as you use  a shade that works with your Luminous Silk foundation. My shade is 4.

This isn’t to say that you can use it as a bronzer though, and if you’d like to do that, you’ll just need to choose a deeper shade. Scroll down for  more info on that. My shade for bronzing is an 8.

Is the original Luminous Silk Powder being discontinued?

This latest addition to the Luminous Silk franchise is a great one, however, fans of the original powder will sad to discover that it is being discontinued. This will also replace the Neo-Nude powder.

I have shade 4 which is the perfect all over powder for all my foundations. This is the same shade as I am in the Luminous Silk liquid foundation and also the concealer.

My Review

As I said at the top, I am not a powder girl, but I love this one. It doesn’t take any glow away from your makeup at all, but adds a beautiful radiance and really enhances the look of your foundation.

Linda Cantello, Armani’s global makeup artist and advisor says that it’s like instant coffee! It is Luminous Silk dried and made into a powder, and it then reconstitutes itself when it’s applied to the skin. It’s quite incredible.

The formula adds a glow to foundation with its super fine particles of pearl. It looks a little like a bronzer in the pan but it is an all over powder and it gives a thin film that melts into the skin delivering a luminous glow. The texture becomes one with the skin and is excellent for blurring fine lines and pores – everything looks kind of airbrushed.

How to choose your shade

Depending on the shade you choose, you can use it as a highlighter, bronzer or finishing powder.  Choose 2 or 3 shades lighter than your Luminous Silk Foundation to highlight and 2 or 3 shades darker to warm the complexion or define the features. When I have more shades, I will update you on that!

Using Glow Fusion Powder as a Bronzer

If you choose a deeper shade – this is shade 8 for me – this Luminous Silk powder makes the most beautiful skin-perfecting bronzer. It’s also stunning as a lid smoothing eyeshadow. I am kind of obsessed.
