I thought I’d get straight into when we can get our hands on this in the UK, and guess what?! It launches on exactly the same day as the brand new Fenty Hydrating Foundation, which it is getting compared to the most closely out of all the new foundation launches (read more on that below).

By the way, do you like the swatches like this? Or would you just prefer the stripes?
Before & After
I went with shade 150W which I like. The photos are below. I am also toying with the idea of testing out 210N as I have dyed my hair darker and really amped up the fake tan levels, so something darker could potentially look better.

I am working on a YouTube video for this foundation and will show the darker shade, so make sure you subscribe to my channel if you want to see that.
My Review of Anastasia Luminous Foundation
I think the key to this foundation is that it does give a really natural finish. It is luminous but not overly dewy so if you have oily skin and don’t want to look too shiny, you may not need to worry about this. I didn’t powder, as it claims to set itself, but oily skins might want to.
It is medium to full, buildable coverage. This goes on like a light to medium coverage foundation, and then you can build it up where you need more product. It layers effortlessly.
I have tried it with a light layer, and also really built it up to fuller coverage, and I still find it feels light and comfortable on the skin. It doesn’t make it feel dry, or oily and doesn’t settle into my lines.
The Finish
It does allow your skin to show through – for example I can still see my freckles and pigmentation – but it does give a nice unified effect to the skin. I found that the staying power is pretty good on my combination skin. As I said, oilier skins may need to powder it but I think it lasts pretty well especially as it is a luminous foundation.

In terms of the finish, I think it is on the more matte side of luminous, especially if you build it up. If you are looking for something really dewy, I don’t think this is it. I think the ‘natural’ description fits it really well. I’d say this is suited to normal and dry skin types, but also, I think it is matte enough to work on oily skins too, if powdered.
I actually think that, on me, this foundation starts looking better after a couple hours of wear. It kind of melts nicely into the skin, gets a bit more of a soft glow. I like that it doesn’t need to be set with powder (yay!) and every time I have worn it, I have skipped powder and it has still lasted well.
How does it compare to the Fenty Hydrating Foundation?
In terms of it’s comparison to the new Fenty Hydrating Foundation, I’d say that it is not as full coverage as the Fenty. Fenty has more coverage with a smaller amount of foundation – I definitely need less of the Fenty, to get a fuller coverage than double the amount of the Anastasia, if that makes sense? Not everyone is looking for full, flawless coverage, and I like how this formula still shows natural skin.
How Much is Anastasia Luminous Foundation?
The foundation is £43 and is available at these links:
