AmazeMitt Makeup Remover Mitt Review

These aren’t new but I spotted the AmazeMitt makeup remover mitt on twitter the other day and thought it sounded interesting. They are mitts that promise to remove makeup with water alone so no need for any cleanser, balms or any product at all.

AmazeMitt is a makeup removing mitten that slips over the hand. It is made of microfibre and nothing else (no chemicals) and all you are supposed to do is wet it with plain water and then gently rub it over your face to take away all makeup and dirt. Simple as that!
It feels super soft and gentle and it’s pretty enjoyable to use. The microfibre that AmazeMitt uses is said to gently exfoliate the skin whilst it is cleansing, so you get a 2 in 1 action. You just wash it with soap after use and then let it dry ready for next time. It is machine washable and if you use it every day then you’ll need to change it every 3 months or so.
AmazeMitt Large Mitt

AmazeMitt is suitable for all skin types and available in 2 sizes. I have used to large size – L’AmazeMitt – as when I have used it, I have been wearing quite a lot of makeup. The large covers the whole hand as you can see and is great for a full face of slap, and the smaller one covers the middle 3 (ish) fingers and is better for the morning cleanse or if there’s minimal makeup removal required.
It is actually really effective. If you have waterproof eye makeup, I’d recommend taking that off separately first, and then getting on with the AmazeMitt action. I go over my face a few times, rinsing as I go, to make sure all the makeup is gone. It does actually work. I have tested it by cleansing after which didn’t reveal any residual traces (apart from a bit of waterproof eye makeup that I missed).
My only problem with it is that I actually really enjoy the cleansing ritual with creams, lotions, oils and balms and actual feel slightly uncomfortable with the absence of product in terms of the sensorial and aromatic experience. I also find that the absence of product makes my skin feel a little tighter than it would normally but this is soon set right with my subsequent skincare routine. I think it is pretty hard to tell whether you get quite as deep a cleanse without product, but I suspect not.
I think they are great if you just want a no-frills functional cleanse, are low on product or on a tight budget, because it does get the job done. I am just not ready to give up my lotions and potions just yet! It was rather good for removing a clay mask though!
AmazeMitt is available online HERE. The small one is £5 and the large one is £8. At the moment you get a free small if you purchase the large.

Love the idea, especially for the morning, when I’m usually in a rush. X
