Winter is the season for cosy nights in by the fire, putting up our Christmas trees and wrapping up our warm in cosy knits! It’s also the season for colds and sniffles so if you’re feeling under the weather at the moment but you still have places to go and people to see you can hide the symptoms with a few beauty tricks! Here are 5 Ways to Disguise a Cold!
1. De-puff as you sleep
Pop an extra pillow under your head tonight, not only does it make it easier to breathe is also helps drain fluid from your face so you won’t wake up with that tell-tale puffy look.
2. Don’t skip the moisturiser!
Colds can leave you with dry, tight skin so don’t forget to take extra special care of it with a hydrating moisturiser morning and night to replenish that lost moisture! Avene Skin Recovery Cream (£13) is up to the job!
Your makeup won’t sit well on a dry, flakey face so it’s essential to prep your skin before you touch a makeup brush!
3. Banish the redness!
A red nose is a dead giveaway that you have a cold! Neutralise red blotches with a green Colour Corrector stick concealer, (you only need a small amount!) then blend your foundation over the top for a perfect complexion!
4. The eyes have it
If you didn’t get a good night’s sleep you can see it in your eyes. Cheat your way to a wide awake look with brightening eye drops to get rid of redness and a pale shimmery eyeshadow in the inner corner of your eyes so you can face the day looking bright-eyed and bushy tailed!

5. Lovely lips!
Dry, chapped lips are a classic cold symptom. A lip scrub with keep nasty flakes at bay, follow with a hydrating lip balm to stop the dryness, Burt’s Bees Ultra Conditioning lip balm is perfect.

I slather on the Elizabeth Arden 8 hr cream. The skin on my cheeks, nose and lips dry out completely and this works wonders!
