Last week I went down to the fabulous Estee Lauder counter at Selfridges to meet with Estee Lauder Global Makeup Artist, Alan Pan. The famous Double Wear Foundation range has just been extended so there are now 30 shades which is massive and pretty much means there’s a match out there for every skin tone.  Exciting!
Alan Pan is totally amazing! He is the kind of makeup artist that completely brings the fabulous out in me! Not only does he know his stuff but I find he really inspires me to experiment and try something new.  Here’s a pic when I met him earlier in the year.

Alan iMatched me to my ideal Double Wear shade and it is Fresco! It’s fab because it tones into my skin perfectly with, and without, my beloved fake tan!

I have never used Estee Lauder Double Wear before and always put it in the category of thick, mask-like makeup, the complete opposite of the dewy, blurred skin I try to achieve.
But with a little bit of this (Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair) and a little bit of that (expertly applied Double Wear foundation) Alan managed to create a flawless, yet natural looking and perfectly matched base that I completely love!
I even managed to recreate it at home – just mixing a few drops of Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair with Double Wear – for a glowy medium coverage that is really buildable where you want more cover. (Outfit info here.)

As you can see the warm shade Alfresco tones in well when I have a bit of tan on too. If you go to get iMatched make sure you mention if you like to wear a bit of fake tan every now and then.
I have to say, I am really loving the Estee Lauder Double Wear. Not only because I like the finish when it’s mixed with Advanced Night Repair but also because it totally stays put!

  • I have a love hate relationship with double wear. I go through periods of being sooo in love with it and wearing everyday and then periods where I decide it looks horrible and makes my skin look flat and tired. I prefer the matte look however when my skin is better I may try it with a few drops of something to sheer it out and dew it up a little 🙂 thanks! xx
