Well this is extremely exciting news for contact lense wearers. In fact, I got rather excited about it and I don’t wear lenses. Here’s the low down on 1 Day Acuvue Define beauty lenses.

In the above picture, I am wearing the Acuvue Define in Shimmer. I have never worn any lenses before and to be honest, the thought of it completely freaked me out but as they were beauty lenses, I thought it my duty to give them a go! I had an eye check before and Acuvue expert popped the 1 Day Acuvue Define lense in! It was weird, but not as bad as I thought! I really like the effect and the way that the outer rim of iris is more defined.

This is an odd angle but here is one in (just on the left) so you can see how wider and more awake my eyes appear. It’s all kinds of amazing!

If I was lense wearer, I would 100% opt for the 1 Day Acuvue Define beauty lenses! The Shimmer variety that I tried is good for darker eyes, and Sparkle is better for paler eyes, apparently.

There are a range of benefits associated with these beauty lenses from Acuvue Define:

  • Beauty (of course) – subtly accentuates the eyes for a brighter, more awake look
  • Comfort – the design is encapsulated inside the lense, so no scratching in the eye, or inner lid
  • Vision – corrects short or long sightedness
  • UV Protection – protects from sun’s harmful rays
  • Health – daily disposables are the healthiest way to wear lense

1 Day Acuvue Define beauty lenses have been big business in Asia for many years and with our penchant for Asian beauty, I can see them going down a storm here. As I said, if I was a lense wearer, I’d be straight on these! They are available now at Boots Opticians exclusively (where 5 day free trials are available) and will go nationwide from January 2015.

What do you think? Make you want to switch from specs to lenses?
