Here’s a look at YSL La Laque Couture Taupe Graine. As a fan of textured nails, I am all over this new polish from the YSL Fall 2014 Look. Black Fetish.

I think that YSL nail polishes are absolutely brilliant. It has such a lovely brush that practically paints your nails for you and I always find the formula to be long wearing and colour true. I have only ever tried super glossy numbers from YSL so I was really excited to give YSL La Laque Couture Taupe Graine a go.

It is part of the Black Fetish collection which is very leather centric and I was sold on leather effect nails 2 years ago when Nails Inc launch their first collection and Alexa Chung  wore it.

Now this is my kind of polish! Don’t get me wrong, I do love a lovely glossy finish but sometimes you just won’t something a little bit different and the textured nail varnishes are so easy to apply, dry really fast and don’t need a top coat, so it’s always a high speed manicure.

I love this Taupe shade as well and the effect is really noticeable. They are going for a matte suede brown and I think it is pretty much there although probably a bit grainier than you’d expect. I think it is really chic – gloss addicts will absolutely hate it! It is a leap from the classic manicure but I love its edginess. It’s perfectly autumnal too.

There’s also another matte polish in this collection – Bleu Galuchat – which promises to be a metallic blue grey. I haven’t seen it yet but I’d like to see how they achieve a metallic finish in a matte texture. I’d imaging that it pretty difficult.
