New YSL collections are always exciting and I have the latest one here. Check out the brand new YSL Fall 2018 Makeup collection, Yconic Purple. I have swatches & photos right here.
Not only is there a new Couture eye palette, but there are new blush and highlighter formulations too, and they are pretty gorgeous.
YSL Fall 2018 Makeup Collection Contents
This is Tom Pecheux’ first collection for YSL so it’s a really interesting one to check out. He was previously signed to Estee Lauder since 2009. Purple is an iconic colour for YSL and plays a very strong role in the brand’s archive. This is the Tom Pecheux modern reinvention of the colour.
I have a few pieces of the collection to show you.
- Palette Collector Yconic Purple £44
- Couture Blush in 10 shades £32
- Couture Highlighter in 3 shades £32

So this range of colours, and the first palette created by Tom Pecheux, combines inspiration from key shades in the YSL archive and also from today’s collections.
Purple is the main player and it is flanked by a beautiful warm rusty tone, a blue-black, a neutral soft brown and a super bright white. Here are the swatches:
As always, the textures are smooth, creamy and densely pigmented. The shades have been designed to suit all skin tones.
YSL Fall 2018 Couture Blush Swatch
The new blush formulation is pretty special because it uses YSL’s new ‘powders infused in water’ technology that guarantees a super smooth, powderless finish.
There are ten shades divided into four colour families – reds, oranges, nudes and pinks – across matte, satin and shimmer finishes.
I have shade 6 Rose Saharienne to show you:
It’s a stunning warm, sandy pink with soft shimmer.
YSL Fall 2018 Couture Highlighter Swatch
The new highlighters offer up a metallic shine using multi-toned pearls with a light diffusing smooth finish.
It is available in 3 shades and I have No 1 Or Pearl to show you:
It can be built up really easily for a more intense result, yet it stays super light on the skin, so you can’t really go wrong with it.
There is also a range of new lip and nail colours in the YSL Fall 2018 makeup collection. You can check them out HERE.
