So much newness from YSL right now! There are the beautiful Tint in Oils, the new Spring 2015 collection, the reformulation of the iconic Luxurious False Lush Mascara, the new Spring 2015 collection and now 2 amazing new palettes. Launching alongside the mascara is the YSL Couture Variation Palette and new Couture Eye Primers. Take a look!

There are 2 new YSL Couture Variation Palettes which YSL are referring to as ‘tonal mixer decks’. There’s Couture Variation Palette No 1 Nu (which I have) and Couture Variation Palette No 2 Tuxedo. So we have a nude option and a smoky option.

Both palettes are inspired by fabric swatches and each of the shadow ranges encompass a full range of finishes including matte, metallic, satin and iridescent. They go from light to dark tones and have what YSL describe as the ‘highest chromatic power and with a texture that binds to the eyelid’.

This palette is all about the nude which increase in depth, tone and intensity as you work up the palette. It includes beiges, bronzes and browns which can be used for day, or intensified for night.

This one is a really smoky, sultry affair – it ranges from ivory to black and rich plums to midnight blues.

The texture is absolutely beautiful. Every single shade is very soft and super pigmented and they blend out with ease. I think this is actually the most gorgeous texture I have experienced from YSL. The shades are just stunning and I will get absolutely loads of use out of this.

It is the perfect travel palette because it is super and has a really good quality brush.
Alongside YSL Couture Variation palettes comes the new Couture Eye Primer. This promises to be a long-lasting, non-greasy base which unifies, hides imperfections and illuminates. It comes in 2 shades – fair which is a matte base and medium which has a sheen finish. They are £23.50 each.
The YSL Couture Variation palettes launch this month (January 2015). Find YSL at John Lewis, Selfridges and House of Fraser. The Tuxedo palette is exclusive to Debenhams.
