I have been testing the new Votary Hyaluronic Self-Tan Drops and getting on really well with them. Here’s what you need to know.
What are Votary Hyaluronic Self-Tan Drops?
This new launch from Votary is really interesting because they are such a skincare focused brand and I didn’t really expect them to move into the self tan arena.
I tend to avoid using self-tan products on my face, because I find that they can really emphasise my hyper-pigmentation. However, I was keen to give them a go because Votary really is a skincare brand I trust.
- Hydrating self-tan drops
- Blended with DHA and calendula extract
- Designed to deliver a flawless, streak-free glow
- Adaptive formulation that works to enhance and perfect natural radiance
- Formulated to give your skin a triple hydration boost with a hyaluronic acid, aloe vera and glycerin
How to use Votary Hyaluronic Self-Tan Drops
Like many of the self-tan drops available on the market, this formula has been designed to be mixed in with your serum or moisturiser to deliver a warm glow to the skin.
You can mix from 2 to 10 drops in with your chosen serum or moisturiser to get the result you want:
- 2-4 for gentle radiance
- 4-10 for enhanced glow
- Use as often as required to achieve your ideal shade
- Wash hands thoroughly after application
My Review
As I said at the top, I tend to avoid facial tanners as I have found that the developed DHA can cling to my darks spots and hyper-pigmentation and make them look worse. So traditionally I have always tanned my body, but avoided my face and just used makeup instead.
Because I trust Votary as a skincare brand, I decided to give these a whirl and have been very pleased with the results I have seen.
The drops themselves have a lovely light water-gel type formula that blends in easily with serum. It’s doesn’t adjust the texture or finish of my products which is really good for me, as I like to layer my skincare.

I started off with a couple of drops, mainly because I was scared, but have found you can be pretty generous with these and still get a lovely natural looking glow. I am absolutely delighted to say that I don’t think it has made my hyper-pigmentation look any darker, but has given a really nice warm radiance to my skin.
I have used them for 3 days running and there’s still no build up over my darks spot and my skin is lovely and hydrated. DHA is typically very drying so I am very pleased with this! I will definitely keep this product in my rotation for when my skin needs a pick me up!
