Victoria Beckham Beauty The Foundation Drops Review

First Impressions
I had my shade match last week and got a few bottles, of which you can see the swatches above. I had the foundation lightly applied at the event over my makeup, and really liked it, but I have since taken it home and have applied and started testing it.
Which shade am I?
I was matched to shade 4 Light* and I absolutely love this shade for my skin tone. It melts in seamlessly and becomes almost undetectable on my skin, leaving my complexion still looking like skin.
What is the coverage like?
The coverage is light-medium and very buildable. It is very skin perfecting so I think anyone looking to ‘cover’ will still find this works well for them. You can also use less and get a really sheer coverage too.
What is the texture like?
I really love the texture. It has a gel-serum quality about it and isn’t too runny or hard to handle. This makes it very easy to apply and blend.
Longevity and staying power – does it last all day?
I have begun testing longevity and will update as soon as I can after completing a full day wear test. So far, I am very impressed with its staying power, even without any powder. The video coming soon above will share more info on this when it’s live.
Does it transfer on to glasses?
So, I tested it without any powder and I am impressed to report that I noticed very minimal transfer on to my glasses (which I tend to wear a lot on home days, and I tested on a home day).
Does it have a shiny finish?
I really like the finish. It delivers a very natural luminosity without looking too shiny or greasy.
Does it sink into lines and wrinkles?
I haven’t noticed it sinking into any lines or exacerbating any texture on my skin. Instead, I feel it creates a really lovely smoothness to my skin, that sits well under all my other makeup.
Does it have a strong smell?
I didn’t notice any smell, which I know lots of people complain about with the Westman Atelier version.
Is it like the Westman Atelier foundation?
I haven’t personally tried the Westman Atelier foundation drops but I have heard that it has a funny smell and that the formula can tend to break up a bit and not last that long. However, I’d recommend doing your own research on that one. As far as the VB goes, I find the formula nice and long lasting, without any noticeable odour.
Does is it contain an SPF?
No, the Victoria Beckham Beauty Foundation Drops do not provide sun protection.
Why is it so expensive?
This is the question everyone has been asking, but as far as I can tell, it isn’t stopping people buying it!! So one of the main factors for price will be the Augustinus Bader skincare element. The formula contains the famous TFC8® Trigger Factor Complex, developed by Professor Augustinus Bader after 30+ years of research.
Also, I have to say, most VB Beauty products are pretty pricey, and her core audience really doesn’t seem to mind!
What is the packaging like and does it dispense the product well?
I really like the packaging. It comes in a bottle you need to shake up and the dispenser is nice and fine so it doesn’t make any mess.
What is the best way to apply it?
I found that applying a few drops to the face and then blending it out with my REESON No. 1 brush* was a really effective and flawless way to apply it. I just used a few drops over my full face and then built it up a little more over the t-zone and any areas of redness.
What skin types is it suitable for?
I’d say this is suitable for most skin types including dry, and combination (I am combination). You may want to use powder if you are oily. With its skincare emphasis, I feel it will be particularly well suited to mature skin.
