If you like mixing and blending to achieve different finishes with your makeup then you may be interested in the new Urban Decay Liquid Aura Illuminating Mix In Medium. It’s an interesting little product and definitely one to check out if you like a bit of glow. Here are the details and photos.

I love the name and the packaging. There is something very ‘unicorn’ about it and it gives you a hint to what’s inside too. As a massive fan of cocktailing my products, I have been getting on really well with this. Urban Decay are taking a very ‘ethereal’ approach with their highlighters this season – the Highlighting Fluids are a case in point. It is all about a very natural looking glow.

I have been having a play with Liquid Aura and it’s definitely my kind of product. I love mixing products and adding in extra glow, especially when I am looking or feeling tired. With it’s pinky, pearly, iridescent finish, it is very brightening on the skin, and the glow it delivers is soft and natural looking, especially when mixed into foundation.

I used it with the new Diorskin Forever Perfect Mousse which has a very matte finish, and it transformed it into a much lighter, dewier base with a lovely brightening effect. It has a bit of a lightening effect too, so if you had any foundations that are a touch dark for you, this might do the trick. I didn’t find that it was noticeably lighter on my face though as it was slightly sheerer coverage, or that it changed the performance of the foundation too much.

I also really like the idea of using it directly on the skin, however, it is pretty thick, so you’ll need to use the smallest amount and build or you might find blending an issue. Also, it’s quite pink as a highlighter, so if pink isn’t your thing, you may not like it. It would be great on collarbones, or down the shins.
