Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser
Now when it comes to cleansing, I usually go for a cream. So when I received this, and read what it had to say, I was very keen to try it. I love the Trilogy brand because it is all about completely natural skin care with a good dose of social responsibility – “Maximum effect on your skin, minimum effect on our environment”.
My skin has always been combination. So it’s a T zone that is prone to shine and everywhere else quite ‘normal’ as they say. But as I have got older (weeps), whilst still experiencing an oily T-zone, the other parts have become increasingly dry and so I have had to use more intensive creams to keep it hydrated.
This dryness is the reason that I have avoided facial washes and stuck to cream cleansers. It has been frustrating because I have always loved the feeling of ‘clean’ that actually washing my face gives me, but the painful dryness after has always outweighed any benefit.
So reading about the Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser instilled a glimmer of hope in me:
“With extracts of elderberry and comfrey this purifying facial wash is great for skin that is dry and sensitive on the cheeks but suffers from an oily T-zone on the nose and forehead. This silky-smooth, soap-free gel contains pure essential oils and plant extracts that leave skin feeling soft and moist, never taut and dry”
Do they know me? Did they make this just for me? This was exciting.
So I have used it morning and night for three days now and I want to keep using it. The gel definitely is super soft, it’s incredibly comfortable on the skin and rinses away easily. It leaves my face feeling clean yet still hydrated. I haven’t had that mad dash to get my day or night cream on, like I do with most other facial washes I’ve used. The instructions say that it’s best to use a face cloth, but I am phobic about those as I have nightmares about harboured bacteria. So I have just been using my hands and have been very pleased with the results.
My skin is feeling really soft and I haven’t had a single spot which can sometimes happen when I start using a new product. I will have to use it for longer to judge the balancing effects.
So my verdict is ….LOVE. I would recommend this for anyone who has an oily T-zone with dry or sensitive cheeks like me.
You don’t need to use too much – I would say between a 5 and 10 pence sized squirt – so I think this will probably last a good few months or more used morning and night. I can see myself using it in the shower every morning and then maybe a cream cleanser at night to avoid all the splashing of water! A word of warning: It comes out fast so proceed with caution to avoid any waste.
The price is £22 for 150ml and is available direct from Trilogy. Alternatively, it is available on LOVELULA.
