TRESemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth System

Well! This is very exciting hair news indeed!! TRESemme have come up with a first-to-market breakthrough in new generation technology. It’s a super affordable, at home system that has been proven to deliver a sleek, salon quality hair style that will last for 7 days, through multiple washes, without frizzing or feeling product heavy. This is the TRESemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth System.

It is a 3 step system that includes TRESemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth Smooth Shampoo (£5.99) TRESemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth Conditioner (£5.99) and the TRESemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth Heat Activated Treatment.

The shampoo and conditioner are infused with keratin and work to reduce frizz and make the hair super soft. Then the TRESemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth Heat Activated Treatment is applied to towel dried hair.

You blow dry it and then use either your straighteners or your tongs to activate the treatment on each section of your hair. You can go straight or wavy, it’s up to you. As long as you use heat (beyond blow drying) to trigger the TRESemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth Heat Activated Treatment.

The smoothness is promised to last for 7 day, even if I wash it 3 times, and probably even longer if I don’t wash it at all. I probably won’t wash it for a week!! I think what is really important is that it feels like there is nothing on my hair at all. It is super light and soft and bouncy. Hair perfection!!

Now, my hair does hold a curl well but as soon as I brush day 2 curls, it does start to frizz especially around the around the crown. So how does it do it? TRESemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth System uses thermal technology that presents a combination of two highly, but oppositely charged polymers that form a Polyelectolyte Complex – best described as thousands of tiny balls of glue that sit on the hair and then become very strong when heat activates them. They bond to each other and the hair fibre surface creating a light film which makes it more difficult for the hair to flex. Hair is still light and has movement. Magic!

I shall be back soon with more news on this to let you know how I get on. So far I am just pretty blown away by the instant results!! From what I can gather, you could use the Heat Activated Treatment with different shampoo, but TRESemme say you’ll get the best results if you use the system.

TRESemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth System will launch in February 2014. It will probably start to appear in Superdrug in January 2014 and will go nationwide at Boots and supermarkets from February/March 2014.
