I am so happy to add the brand new Tom Ford Rose Prick Eau de Parfum to my fragrance collection because it ticks so many boxes for me. Here are my thoughts on it! Enjoy!

First of all, this is such a Tom Ford fragrance to me! If I first smelled it with my eyes closed and had to guess the brand, I am pretty sure that TF is what I’d say. Although, a few people have mentioned Frederic Malle and Portrait of a Lady as a comparison, so if that’s your kind of scent, this could be right up your street.

My Review
It isn’t overly rosey, inspite of its name, so don’t write it off if you aren’t a rose lover per se. The pepper comes out the longer you wear it and it has such a sophisticated smoky woodiness, like an incense rose. I really like the combination of floral and spice.
For me, it has amazing staying power, much like my absolute favourite, Tom Ford Noir. I actually think the two scents have a lot in common. I can smell both the following day.

The Bottle
I don’t think it will surprise you that I think the bottle is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a really muted pink and not really as pink as I thought it was going to be. It isn’t in your face and obvious – it’s actually very chic. The soft hue looks beautiful with the soft matte finish of the bottle which is sharply contrasted with the black labeling and accents.
Apparently the inspiration for this rose fragrance was actually Tom Ford’s own rose garden and his contemplation of the “balance between the beauty of the rose and the fierceness of its thorns.” So this is where the name comes from, although I must confess, I am really not a fan of this fragrance’s title.

Unlike Fucking Fabulous, which both amused and allured me, I think the name Rose Prick is a little less than glam. It’s the only thing I don’t love about this fragrance. I can totally get over it because I love the way it smells on me, and the bottle is absolute perfection in my eyes.
Talking of Fucking Fabulous, Rose Prick shares the same, rather eye-watering price of £280 for 50ml. It is super expensive, but as this scent will work really well for both men and women, I feel like this would be THE MOST impressive Valentine’s gift for someone really special.
