Superdrug has recently relaunched its entire own brand makeup rangeB. You might have noticed that Superdrug B recently vanished from stores, fear not, it’s had a facelift and it’s coming back. Superdrug B is well known for delivering affordable cruelty free and vegan, professional standard makeup products at a reasonable price, so thankfully it hasn’t gone for good. I’m sure shoppers interested in ethical cosmetics will be pleased.

Superdrug B has undergone some changes- new packaging, new products and a capsule collection by celebrity makeup artist Cassie Lomas. I have the new Superdrug B Pro Contour sticks in Light and Universal to show you. Find them here.

Contour has been so fashionable recently and I think ladies (and men) have really started to incorporate the technique of defining their facial contours with light and dark makeup into their daily routines. I don’t think that contouring is going to be a flash in the pan, when you see some of the face changing results you can get with clever shading, it’s easy to see why it’s so popular. Contour sticks are an easy portable way to dip your toe into the trend. The B contour sticks would be a good buy for beginners or for those who are just searching for a quick contour product for on the go.

Superdrug B Pro Contour Stick Review

The Superdrug B Pro Contour stick is a really handy contour product that is double ended. The darker contour shade on one side and a lighter, shimmery highlight the other. It comes in 4 shades- Light, Medium, Dark and Universal. The packaging is nicely functional and the lids click on securely. They are £8.99, they’re a bit small unfortunately, you might find you get through the stick pretty quickly.

The Universal shade has a warm contour shade and a white shimmer highlight. The Light Pro Contour stick has a neutral toned contour with a less shimmery white highlight. I prefer the Light shade. It has a cooler, more neutral tone that suits my fair neutral skin really well. I usually find contour products lean towards warm, which then turns my contouring efforts into orange streaks.

Superdrug B Pro Contour Stick On My Face

After a bit of trial and error, I found the best way to use the B Pro Contour sticks is on top of my foundation. If I used it before foundation the product is harder to blend nicely. If I just applied over foundation, blended gently upwards and applied my makeup as usual it was better. I took a series of photos of my contouring exploits (foundation is Armani Power Fabric, blush is Nars Dolce Vita and Nyx soft matte cream in Cannes on the lips, if you’re interested)..

I found the contour shade of the Light Superdrug B Pro Contour Stick absolutely perfect for sculpting my cheekbones. It has a cool tone that makes a nice shadow that doesn’t look orange or dirty. It blends well, but not too easily. I’m not as crazy about the highlight shade. It comes up a little white for my taste, although it does look better with the rest of my makeup in place. Contour in stick form is a great idea for when a whole contour palette is not practical, they’re easy to carry and quick to use.
