I hadn’t heard of STV Cosmetics before, so I was looking forward to seeing what their products were like. As the company has been founded by a makeup artist with over 12 years experience in the industry in a range of different fields, I had high hopes.
STV Cosmetics Foundation Primer £28.50

As a self-confessed primer addict, I was keen to put the Foundation Primer to the test. At £28.50, this is not the cheapest primer in the world, so it needs to perform well. It comes in a clear gel texture, although there is a tinted version available for darker skin tones, and the pump dispenser ensures you don’t waste a lot of product.

It gives the skin a really lovely matte finish, providing you with the perfect base for your foundation. My skin texture felt smoother and more even, and it appeared to fill in some of my fine lines. It kept my foundation on all day, and I was surprised at how light it felt on my skin, as at first, I thought that perhaps the gel could be a little bit too heavy.
STV Cosmetics Hi – Def Foundation £28.50

Next up, we have the Hi-Def Foundation, which again costs £28.50. I was sent N25 Cool Neutral which was an almost perfect match for my skin tone, so we were off to a good start. Coverage wise, I’d say this is Medium but it is buildable if you feel like you need to cover a bit more. It has a weightless feel, is self-setting and water resistant.

I really like the fact that it has a collagen formula to help reduce any puffiness that you might have. It stayed on all day, but if you have dry skin, like I have, you really need to moisturise well before applying, as after a few hours, it started to cling to my dry patches and oxidised slightly. I tried it again the next day, after a thorough skincare pamper, and it wore much better. It is available in 8 different shades, from light to dark, so there should be a shade for most people.
STV Cosmetics Illuminating Lotion

The final item that I tried was the Illuminating Lotion in Paradise, which costs £20.00. My goodness, this is beautiful. At first, I thought that it might be a little bit too dark for me, but once blended it gave a beautiful glow to my skin. I didn’t even need blusher, as this is so beautifully pigmented, that it gave me all the colour I needed.

You can wear it on it’s own, under foundation, mixed with foundation, or over the top – which I did. You can also use it on your body for added lustre. Seriously, this is so beautiful, and has to have been one of the best liquid illuminators that I have ever tried.

After spending some time having a little browse on the STV website, I’m now seriously lusting after their palettes, as they’re gorgeous. Go check them out … and buy the Illuminating Lotion whilst you’re at it!
