Spring 2017 Makeup Look – Summer Sheen with Boots UK #AD

Earlier in the year I worked with Boots UK to create a skincare regime tailored to my specific skin type and concerns. It has been going really well and my skin is looking good. My favourite part of beauty is makeup and so I was super excited to team up with Boots UK again to recreate one of their Spring 2017 Makeup Trend Looks. I chose Summer Sheen from a range of looks and I love it. Here’s a look.

I absolutely love this look which was created by the beauty experts at Boots UK using an edit of gorgeous makeup products available online and in store. There are a whole range of spring looks to get inspired by and it’s all part of Boots UK’s mission to raise the health and happiness of the nation.

Spring is the ideal time to try something new when it comes to makeup, especially as Boots UK has offers on loads of products across a range of brands. Summer Sheen is my favourite, I hope you like it!!

So the Summer Sheen look is all about the skin which is my favourite thing in makeup! It’s glowy and bronzy with very little emphasis on the eyes and lips to allow the complexion to do all the talking. I love it.

Boots UK sent over a range of their products for me to recreate the look and I have them all here.

I started off by prepping my skin using the L’Oreal Paris clay mask trio that’s part of my Boots UK Skincare Regime. I then used the No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Eye Cream and the Vichy LiftActiv Supreme moisturiser for normal/combination skin.

For foundation, Boots UK selected L’Oreal Paris True Match. I used this in shade 1.N Ivory. I worked this into the skin using the  Oval 7X brush from Boots’ brand new Luxe Studio brush range. They are beautiful brushes – super soft and extremely densely packed for easy, seamless blending.

To really amp up the glow factor, I then went in with the Maybelline Master Strobing Stick in shade 100 and applied this to the bridge of my nose, top of my cheekbones and the cupid’s bow and then blended it in with my fingertips.

Next I used the No7 Bronzer in Golden Sand on my cheekbones and temples to warm everything up and give the skin a sun-kissed look. The Luxe Studio 9X brush is absolutely perfect for applying this smoothly and evenly.

Because the Summer Sheen look is all about the skin, I left the lips and eyes completely alone except for a couple of things. I used a light slick of balm over the lips and then used a little trick that Boots UK came up with to really brighten up the eyes.

I ran the  NYX Professional Makeup Jumbo Eye Pencil in shade Milk along the bottom lash line and then blended it with a cotton bud to soften the finish. It really works to give you a fresh, wide-eyed look without the appearance of makeup.
