Sond Gentle Daily Cleanser Review

I’ve mentioned many times before how much I love cleansing so any opportunity to try a new cleanser and I get far more excited than I probably should. So I was very happy to be offered the chance to try the Sond Gentle Daily Cleanser.

Cleansing is in my opinion the most essential stage of a skincare regime. If you don’t properly cleanse your skin of make up and debris how can you expect the remainder of your skincare to work properly or your make up apply properly? And I spend far too much money on make up to not want the maximum effects.

Sond is not a brand I’d heard of before. After reading up on them though I really wanted to try their Gentle Daily Cleanser, Cleanse and Calm. They makes the following claims for the Gentle Daily Cleanser:

• Shea and Cocoa Butter lift off impurities without stripping natural moisture
• Chamomile and Marigold soothe and calm skin due to natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties
• Effectively removes make up
• Suitable for all skin types

Application is on dry skin. You simply massage 2-3 drops gently into the skin and then either remove with warm water or you can use a damp soft face cloth or cotton wool. It doesn’t say this cleanser can be used around the eye area and I wouldn’t advise you do so. There is a strong herbal scent and this could aggravate the eyes.

Unfortunately a few days ago I was unexpectedly caught out in the sun and hadn’t applied my usual high SPF so did turn a little on the red side. I turn from white to pink and back to white and although my skin didn’t hurt I wanted to give it a little TLC.

I’d been using this cleanser for about a week and was very impressed so far with how well it removed makeup. However using it on my slightly red face is where I truly felt its magic. My skin felt soothed and the Chamomile and Marigold really helped my skin to settle down very quickly. If only I could use this all over the body!
