I was late to the game when it came to brow makeup but now I feel nearly as bad walking out of the house without brow makeup as I do if I forget mascara! Sometimes (very rarely) naked lashes accidentally happen and it’s awful! Here’s a look at the brand new and rather lovely Sleek Makeup Brow Intensity brush-on fibre gel mascara and highlighter. I love a brow product that uses fibres to add density and fill gaps in my eyebrows and this one comes with a clever brush designed to shape and sculpt.

The instructions say to start by applying the brow gel with the sponge applicator, and then brush through with the wand to even out the product. I would say go very lightly when you apply as quite a lot of product can come off the sponge in one go. I had the best success with adding a bit, brushing and then adding a bit more. Whilst you are getting used to this it might be useful to have a clean spooley on hand if you want to brush through without adding any more product.

I went for the medium shade and a very light hand – after applying a bit too much of too dark a shade at first and having to start again. As I said, less is definitely more with this product. If you’re a brow pro, you won’t I have a problem I think.

I love all the highlighting pencil shades – they are really pretty and help to lift and define the brow really well. They all work beautifully as an inner corner highlight too.

What really impresses me about these brow products is the longevity and also the texture and feel. First up, I can barely feel there is any product in the hair and my brows feel very normal to touch with no crispiness at all. Secondly, it is very long-wearing. In fact, when I applied too much the first time I tried these, it was pretty hard to get it off. It is almost like a tint which is excellent for anyone looking for a really long lasting result.

There are five shades – light, medium, dark, extra dark and black. I’d say if you are having trouble choosing between two shades, go lighter.

I am going to practise the application of this product more because I am really impressed with the texture and long wear. I just need to get the hang of the applicator.
